TAMMY ELAN REMEMBERED

The scent of flesh
Skin on skin
Deep within
The night's loins
Crouches my soul-
I am
The whisper
That was
Once forgotten-
Etched in
Your mind
Are my
Words
Of lace
That wrapped
Around you-
So fragile
You were
Back then-
Clinging to me
As moon to sky-
As sky to heaven-
The wine from
Your lips
Tempted me so-
But still
I could not
Drink-
Not one sip-
And still
Your hair so soft
Entangled
My fingers
To where
What labrith
I did not
Care to conquer-
And the
Scent of
Your flesh-
Low dreaming-
Whispers
From sleep shared-
As we
Slept quietly
Within the
Walls of
Our innocence.

SHADOW

The dawn
Of another life
Still the same
Blood-
That which
Draws,
Which binds
Us together-
And people
Say that
I am
A vampire-
Because
I took
Your innocence-
Or
Did you
Give it freely?
They say
I seduced
You.
Still you
Are bound
To me-
You become
And remain
Because
Of me.
It is
The blood
That unites
What is
Not seen-
You can
No longer
Deny who
You are.
Yes-
And
What is
Not seen
Is felt
Through
The touch
Of night-
Surrounding
You
As I
Once did-
As it
Will forever
Be.

MY FATHER'S SIN

Even as we speak
My soul
Is touching yours
Far more than words
Could ever express-
And these hours
Are unbearable-
They are the pain
That wields
My heart-
And
It is
My father's sin
That runs through
These viens
Cutting and slicing
The heat within-
Never ending
As
It burns
Pictures of you
Within the doorways
Of
My soul-
That somehow
Cannot be released.

CHURCHES

My touch
Tickles
The meadow's flower-
My mouth
Catches
Dancing raindrops-
My nose
Smells
The wilds of the forest-
My eyes
See
All these
Fantasic splendors-
And yet
The buzzing
Of
A bee
Numbs me
To where
I recline-
And am
Called back
To nestle-
To romp-
To roll-
And play-
And at times...
Weep.
These that I have
Told you-
These-
Are the churches
Without doors.

HERE AND NOW

Here sits the demon
Coiling
Coiling
Quickening it's pace
So invisible-
Seeing all
With one eye
Open-
He searches
Your soul-
Goodnight,
Goodnight,
Tuck you
Into your
Dreams-
Neverless-
As
You stress
Warmed milk
Cannot comfort
For what
You
Have done.

A SEPTEMBER AFTERNOON
(For Colleen Ferrigan)

And the incense
I have lit
Is
For you-
So many
Septembers
Ago-
The look
In your
Eyes
Made
The leaves
Dance-
And
There was
No music
Only laughter-
I close
My eyes
Taking in
The aroma
Of sandlewood-
It weaves
It's magic
Spell-
Ah-
The fall
Colors
Are brillant-
Unlike
Any artist
Could ever paint-
Suddenly
I cease
The engine-
And
As quiet
Speaks
To quiet-
We watch
Two deer
Break through
The meadow-
Swimmimg
Through
A thick
Sea of
Yellows
And orange-
The look
In your
Eyes
Was that
Of a
Child-
Filled with
Awe-
Seeing
The raw beauty
Of
Nature-
Letting
It fill
Your emotions-
Becoming one
With it-
At that moment-
One of two
Locked
Eyes
With she
Who was watching-
Anticipating
What she would
Do-
Then contact
Was broken.
Many Septembers
I have
Felt
Like
That deer-
Still...
Remembering
The look
In her
Eyes-
That melted
My heart-
And yet...
I too
Knew I
Must continue
Blending
with
The meadow-
The meadow
That would
Eventually
Separate
You from me-
So we
Could find
Our own
Happiness-
I always
Wanted
You
To find
Your way-
I hope
You have-
For I
Know
You can
Still
Make
The leaves
Dance
Swaying to
Your sweet
Music of
Laughter.
