When you and I first met, I thought words alone could never express . . .
all the joy and love flowing in my heart.
And every day the journey seemed to take us places
I thought I alone would never find.
You showed me worlds my dreams could never create.
And for every valley we traversed,
the mountains gleamed along the way.
Calling us onward to the glory that lay in wait.
With patience you endured my childlike innocence and glee.
With each question I raised, you helped me to see . . .
This journey we are on holds no guarantees.
As each new day begins,
we offer a silent prayer and seek within,
the love our faith has slowly found to be, the rock on which we stand.
When you and I first met,
I thought words alone could never express . . .
But now, somewhere along the way,
you taught me all that silence could say.
And in those precious moments, your silence allows me to see
all the love, faith and hope
two eyes could ever perceive.

They say for each of us
there's a lifetime written in the stars.
They say for each of us
there's a name that whispers in the wind.
And I know for me that must be true
because I see a little bit of you,
in everything I do.
Oh my lifetime began
when you first took my hand.
And each and every day
I know that I will never lose my way.
For you are the guiding star
giving me the will to stay.
They say for each of us
there's a lifetime written in the stars.
They say for each of us
there's a name that whispers in the wind.
And I know for me that must be true.
Because I see a little bit of you,
in everything I do.
And living day to day
I hear a thousand voices calling out my name.
Yet, somehow deep inside
this peace still remains.
One voice, one name, one love,
touching my heart.
They say for each of us
there's a lifetime written in the stars.
They say for each of us
there's a name that whispers in the wind.
And I know for me that must be true.
Because I see a little bit of you,
in everything I do.

There's a road we all must travel,
there's a journey each shall make.
And for every road that's chosen
there'll be a path we never take.
And all along life's highways,
we choose the faces we call home.
For each hello we give
there's one we can't let go.
And when it comes to you my friend,
I hide these tears I cry.
For in my heart . . .
I never really said goodbye.
You and I thought we'd found the joy,
the rainbow in the sky.
All we had to do
was dream and close our eyes.
And we'd find the world we had designed.
Little did we know
how much of life's about pain.
Choices we've made
and words we've said,
have left us now to seek
what once we thought we'd found.
And there's a road we all must travel,
there's a journey each shall make.
And for every road that's chosen
there'll be a path we never take.
And all along life's highways
we choose the faces we call home.
For each hello we give
there's one we can't let go.
And when it comes to you my friend,
I hide these tears I cry.
For in my heart,

What do you see when you look at me,
do you see a warrior standing proud and free?
How can it be, that you never see
all that's hiding deep inside of me.
The battles I've fought, the kingdoms I've gained
to me bring no glory, only a shame.
For the greatest fight, I've yet to wage.
And the thoughts of it are killing me.
I never thought I would see
this warrior defenseless as can be.
There is no weapon I can take to hand,
there is no army to listen to my command.
All that I can bring is my heart in my hands.
And as I lay it down before this throne.
I question the right to ask you to love me alone.
For in you I see everything I can never be.
Yet, miraculously you are here with me.
And so I send my prayer to the god above,
the one who gave this light to my dark day.
And I fall upon my knees to ask,
what do you see when you look at me?
Do you see a warrior standing proud and free.
My love, can you not see,
that all I bring to thee,
is my heart in my hands.

There's a war that you are waging quietly within your soul.
It's a battle you alone can fight and one that I will never know.
And as I stand by so helplessly
there is a fear that grips my soul.
No weapons can defeat this enemy,
no healer can bind these wounds.
The healing comes from you my love,
and it is between you and God alone.
And so I sit and suffer,
condemned in my own hell.
With each and every breath you take I pray for a victory;
but which one I can not tell.
There's a war that you are waging quietly within your soul.
It's a battle you alone can fight and one that I will never know.
And when this fighting is over and all is laid to rest.
There is a spirit that must conquer that one last final test.
As you make your way to the heaven that must now be found,
will your love come back to me as I patiently stand this ground.
For when your battle is over I will start anew,
to find the life that's left to me and demons I never knew.

I reached for the stars to capture a dream.
You reached for my lips and with just one kiss,
captured eternity.
And now, all that I can find,
is heaven on my mind.
Days spent searching, nights spent seeking
the answer to my heart's prayer.
Was this life of mine given unbound
or for destiny profound?
The ending need not be clear,
for now I have no fear.
Together, we are bound.
How can it be, this part of me,
no longer needs to be wild and free?
Every question unheard,
every dream undisturbed,
every thought unfurled.
The answer so clear . . .
