Fate Revealed

"How could you do this to me?" Gabrielle screamed with rage at the warrior. "You know how much this meant to me."

"Gabrielle just calm down will you." Xena replied in her usual monotone voice and raised an eyebrow at the over excited bard. "There is no way in Tartaris I'm letting some under aged, immature kid follow us around while we Œsave the world' just so he can interview me and find out about my many skills, besides I like it just being the two of us.

"It's not like I'm asking you to let Joxer come!" Gabrielle replied sarcastically, "He's trying to make a name for himself"

"See how much I care·he might get hurt Gab", Xena said with a weary look on her face.

"Oh, don't give me that pitiful look, you know you won't let anything happen to him just like you never let anything happen to me." Gabrielle smiled at the warrior.

"Don't do that puppy dog face of yours!" Xena pushed the Bard playfully, "Oh alright but you owe me BIG!"

"I'm sure I'll find a way to make it up to you", Gabby smiled as she ran off to tell her new friend the good news.

The three of them walked along, Xena holding Argo's rains and Domenic telling Gabrielle about himself.

"My father was great doctor who wanted me to be the same. I studied medicine for three years and decided that it wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to become an entertainer. I'm from a place you've never been, a time where technology has evolved greatly and people rely on the media to bring them different stories from around the world. I've decided to take it one step forward and travel to ancient Greece." Domenic stated, "I'm from the year 2001."

"I don't understand, it makes no sense", Gabrielle was starting to get mad.

Xena heard Gabrielle's tone of voice and stopped walking.

"What's going on?" She said in a stern voice. Domenic had started to go through his bag and Xena not sure what he was retrieving drew her sword protectively.

"What's it like to travel with Xena the legendary warrior princess?" Domenic asked as he shoved a small black object under Gabrielle's face.

"Uh·what's that thing?" Gabrielle asked.

"It's a microphone so I can share your answers with the rest of the world" He replied.

"The rest of the world?" Xena repeated.

"So Gabrielle what is the real Xena like? How does it feel to be known as The Battling Bard Of Potidia?" Domenic questioned.

"Get that thing away from her or I'll have to move it for you" Xena yelled at the annoying man. "I'm beginning to think I should have picked Joxer", she mumbled under her breath.

"Oh come on Xena it could be fun after all I am the battling bard", a grin slowly appeared on Gabrielle's face.

"Fine, two minutes" she said as she sat crossed legged in the shade under a small tree.

"Well, Xena is my best friend, my family, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be the person I am today, I would be a slave." Gabrielle answered his first question.

"Really tell me about that" He replied.

"This is different, I'm not used to a reaction", Gabrielle answered truthfully, "Xena isn't much company, she's usually more like a zombie."

"Oh thanks a lot", Xena said from behind them, "If you didn't ramble so much·"

"Hey! You're the one who used my scrolls to"

"Alright that's enough" Xena interrupted, walked over and grabbed Gabrielle.

"Please Xena, I'd like to ask you a few questions", Domenic begged.

"No I think that's enough of your questions", Xena said as her and Gabrielle began to walk away.

"Xena do you think we've lost him?" Gabrielle whispered.

"No he's still following us, by the gods I can't believe I let you talk me into this", Xena replied. Her face turned serious and she put a hand up to keep her quiet.

"Xena what is it?" Gabrielle asked worried. Xena didn't answer instead she pulled the startled Bard down on the ground as two arrows passed above them. Unsheathing her sword Xena stood her ground as a large group of men came out from either side of them.

"Hello lady's, what do we have here?" one of the men snarled as he grabbed Gabrielle by the arm.

"I don't think that's a good idea!" she warned as she took in her surroundings. The men charged towards her all a once, with Xena's quickness Dominic didn't think the battle would last long but the men were stronger then any of them expected and Xena misinterpreted a move and felt the sword enter her body. The shooting pain was too much for her to fight and as she fell to the ground Gabrielle ran to protect her. Xena had already fought off most of the men and Gabrielle finished the fight for her while protecting Xena who was lying on the ground beneath her.

Once it was clear Dominic came out from behind the bushes to find a crying Gabrielle tending to the wounded Xena. He figured this would be the perfect moment to catch them off guard and began filming.

"Xena tell me what to do!" Gabrielle screamed in panic. She began to speak softly as blood starting flowed from her mouth.

"Gabrielle, grab the cloth and canteen out of Argo's saddlebag", Gabrielle did as Xena asked pushing Dominic out of the way. She brought them back to Xena and placed the cloth over Xena's wound and applied pressure.

"Xena please you can't leave me here·I wouldn't be able to make it without you." Gabrielle cried. "Dominic do something!"

"I·uh·I can't!" Dominic replied

"Yes you can you studied medicine·help her please! She's not going to be much of a subject for your interviews if she DIES!" Gabrielle screamed.

"Alright", he through down the camera and stitched up Xena's wound with the thread Gabrielle brought him from her bag which she used for sewing. Xena eyes closed slowly.

"No!" Gabby cried, "Is she d·dead?

"No she's probably just passed out from the pain", Domenic reassured her. "Let her sleep for now."

Gabrielle sat beside Xena for hours. Domenic took out his camera thinking it might be a good time to get the answers he wanted from Gabrielle.

"Do you mind if I ask you some quick questions?" He asked her.

"Listen, the person I love most in the world could die at any minute. I don't want to be bothered with you and your questions!" Gabrielle was getting annoyed.

"Please it might take your mind off the situation and it would really help me out", he pleaded.

"Alright", Gabrielle finally gave in to his annoying banter.

"Thank you I really appreciate it", he smiled.

"Just hurry up and get it over with", Gabrielle demanded.

"Okay", he started setting up the camera, "Why did you leave the way of love?"

"Xena and I were escaping from a Roman Prison when Callisto threw Xena's chakram and broke her back. She was unable to fight for herself and I couldn't let her die. She's my reason for living and I realized that the way of friendship was the right path for me to follow. It was then I fought off Caesar's soldiers to protect her." Gabrielle's eyes filled with tears with the knowledge that Xena might die now.

"Knowing that Xena once gave into her dark side do you fear that she may one day return?" he asked.

"There's always the chance but I know that our relationship is stronger then any other in this world and I hope she feels the same. Ares had his chance with Xena and now she's with me." Gabrielle answered.

"Your scrolls have become legendary and the tales of your adventures with Xena will become a part of history. I can tell you now Xena will not die here from this wound", Domenic told her happily.

"I don't understand", Gabrielle asked confusion in her voice.

"I told you before I'm from the year 2001 where you and Xena have become stars of you own TV series. You entertain millions of people every week and bring happiness to the lives of many. The series is now ending because we've run out of your scrolls so please whatever you do don't stop writing and maybe one day world will know the true Xena and Gabrielle as I do now."

The End
