I believe in a higher power
God, if you will, goddess if you prefer.
I cannot believe in a building
and the man-made rules for living
that would deny us.
I believe in the golden rule
and judging not lest ye be judged.
I cannot believe in declaring
this is what God wants
When no one, after all, can be certain.
I believe in a life after this one,
that we have lived before and will again.
I cannot believe that after spending
so long apart in this life, we have only
the rest of our lives together.
I believe in you and me and us
and the peace we have found together.
I believe in promises and committment and truth
passion, compassion and trust,
Forever and happily ever after.
I believe in love.
