Greatly disgusted, Elizabeth pushed Alexander away and wiped her lips with the back of her hand. “Don't ever do that again!” she growled and glared at him.

Alex grinned broadly. “Oh Babe, your puritan act makes me so hot.”

Her face flushed bright red in anger. “Would you please stop embarrassing me every chance you get?”

The grin was still firmly fixed on his face and he waggled his eyebrows.

She sighed. “You are a hopeless case. We have to talk.”

“Yes, yes. Later, later. For now, I'm going to get us some champagne.”

“No, Alex...”

But it was too late to hold him back. He was already gone.

Liz shrugged her shoulders. “Alright, so we will talk later then.” Her eyes wandered through the room, searching the colorful crowd for her Samurai warrior. “Hmm. Just where could she have gone?”

Somebody tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around, finding herself face to face with Danielle and Elias.

“Liz, thank God. I was beginning to think I would never find you,” Danielle said.

“Dani, Elias, why are you without costumes?”

“We are not here to have fun,” Elias explained.

Elizabeth wrinkled her forehead. “No?” she asked confused.

“No,” Danielle confirmed. “I have to tell you something. It can't wait any longer. I just have to tell you right now.”

“Did something happen?”

The other woman nodded. “A lot happened. It's very serious and it will change the lives of a few people.”

“Danielle, you are scaring me. What's wrong?”

“Please, let's go somewhere where we can talk undisturbed. I want to explain everything.”

“Okay, “ Elizabeth responded. “I think there is a free room over there.” She pointed at a small door in the wall. “Better said, it's a storeroom.”

“That doesn't matter,” Danielle replied. “As long as it has a door to close.” She looked at Elias, who smiled at her and held her hand. ‘There is no turning back now. Everything will be revealed. I just hope that Liz can forgive me that I betrayed her. Hopefully she won't hate me. I couldn't bear that.'

Victoria ran over the whole Parker estate in her enormous dress. “Fortunately, I managed to get away from that annoying Zorro. I thought I would never get rid of that nosey guy. What a pompous ass! Now I only need to find my sweet Jacky-Boy and then I can go back to enjoying this evening. The only question is... where did he disappear to?”

Jack had turned the tables and now Sara was pressed into the wall. They surrendered to wild kisses and passion was about to conquer them.

Gasping, he let go of her and leaned his forehead against hers. “God, Sweetheart, you make me burn, it's just incredible.”

“Yes. I think we should stop before it gets out of control. We might get arrested for obscene behavior in public.”

He laughed. “I think you're right. But what if I don't want to stop?”

With tender fingertips, she stroked his face. “Darling mine, we have too. Also, there is a problem that we need to talk about.”

Jack frowned. “Which problem?”

“Your fiancée, Victoria Parker.”

“I know,” he sighed. “I know, I have to tell her. But, I want to tell her as carefully as possible. She was so nice to me and I seriously was intending to marry her.”

Sara looked at him in disbelief. “I'm not sure if we are talking about the same person here.”

Jack shrugged his shoulders. “I really can't understand what everybody has against her. She...”

“... is backstabbing, lies and betrays to get what she wants. And once she has it, she won't let go of it,” Sara finished his sentence, barely able to contain the rage she felt boiling up whenever she thought of the former model.

He blinked. “I guess we are really not talking about the same person.”

“It doesn't matter,” she grumbled. “I don't want to have a discussion about Vicky's character. I want to be with you and she stands between us.”

“I want to be with you too and I will tell Vicky everything. I'll tell her this evening, I promise.”

“Jack... I... I... “

He placed a finger on her lips and smiled. “You don't have to say a word, Sweetheart. I love you too, so much... more than I ever loved anybody else.”

Then his lips melted again with hers. Both of them didn't notice the hateful pair of eyes that observed them from the darkness.

Victoria was boiling was fury. ‘Again, this Aussie-Bitch is trying to steal my man. She won't succeed. Not ever! You will not win, Sara Jones! I've got an ace up my sleeve that even Jack doesn't know about. I think it is time to play that card.'

They had reached the tiny storeroom and Elizabeth was really curious as to what the other woman would tell her now. “Alright Danielle, what's the important news?”

“I got my memories back.”

“Really?” Liz smiled. “That's great! You've been waiting for it a long time.”

Danielle looked at the floor and said in a small voice. “It depends on how you look at it.”

“What does that mean?” Elizabeth asked in confusion. “Are you not happy to have your memories back?”

“Partway yes.”

“Danielle what's wrong?”

She sighed. “There is something that burdens my soul heavily and I just don't know how to tell you.”

Liz placed her hand on her shoulders. “Dani, we are friends. You know that you can tell me anything.”

“It's not that easy,” Danielle whimpered. “It will hurt you and you are probably going to hate me afterward.”

“I could never hate you.”

“I just don't know how I could do that.”

“Danielle, please just tell me,” Elizabeth begged.

“I betrayed you,” she blurted.

The blonde frowned. “How?”

“Alexander and I had an affair,” Danielle finally confessed with tears streaming down her face.

An unbearable silence fell.

“I'm so sorry,” Danielle sobbed. “I really am so sorry, Liz.”

Elizabeth just looked at her in shock.

“Please say something.”

“You... y-you t-two were... i-involved w-with... e-each o-other?” Liz stuttered. “For how long?”

“A long time before you were lost in the jungle.”

Liz shook her head. “I don't believe this.”

“I don't know how I could do something like that, I really don't understand it. Please, Liz, you have to believe me, if I could take it back I would. But I can't. The only thing I can do is warn you. This man is very dangerous,” Danielle responded.

Elizabeth felt like having been hit by a ton of bricks. “Why should I believe you? You just told me yourself that you betrayed me.”

“Now, I will tell you everything, everything about my time with Alex and then you can build your opinion. But please, listen to me.”

Liz nodded. “Okay.”

Danielle told her everything, about the drugs, about the threats when he pretended to be Greg and the attack. “I know, it's a lot to take in, but you have to believe me that I'm telling you the truth.”

Elizabeth stared at the picture that Danielle had given her. She thought back to the day at the beach and Alexander's horrible behavior then. “Because I wouldn't let him get any, he went to you?”

Danielle nodded.

“That bastard!” Liz exclaimed. “He is going to get something, that's for sure!”

The other woman was a bit surprised. “Does that mean you believe me?”

“Yes, Danielle. Yes, I believe you. When I think about it clearly, I should have noticed something far sooner.”

“What... what are you going to do now?”

“Oh, I will have a nice conversation with my fiancé .”

“Please Liz, be very careful,” she admonished her friend. “He really is a very dangerous man. Especially when he's angry.”

“You have not seen me yet when I'm really angry!” Furious, Elizabeth left the little room.

Danielle looked at Elias, who had been there the whole time in the background. “Do you think it was the right decision to tell her?”

“Are you feeling better?” he wanted to know.

“I'm feeling as if a huge weight just fell off my shoulders.”

He smiled. “Then it was the right decision.”

Taylor unlocked the entrance door and the first thing she had to do was to defend herself from Tasilo's happy greeting, who jumped at her. “Hey, hey my sweet boy. It's okay.”

Jemima rubbed against Sam's legs and she picked her up. The little cat cuddled up to her and purred contently.

Samantha was about to head upstairs, when Taylor reached for her hand and held her back. “Sammy? Are you sure that you don't want to tell me what happened?”

Sam nodded.

“But why not? Maybe I can help you.”

The woman looked at her with such a sad expression it tugged painfully at the teenager's heart. “Nobody can help me. I have to get through this alone.”

“Good night, little one. I'll go to bed.” She set Jemima down and climbed up the stairs to the room she shared with Elizabeth.

Taylor watched her leave, feeling very helpless. “I don't understand this. Everything seemed so perfect. What happened?”

Samantha threw herself upon the bed and buried her face into Elizabeth's pillows. Her whole body was shaking from the force of the sobs that broke free with all their might. “My Angel... why?”

Taylor went to the bathroom to wipe the make-up off her face and to change clothes. “Something happened and I'm sure it has something to do with Liz. Hopefully everything is going alright for Jack and Sara at least. These two really deserve to be together.”

As she returned from the bathroom, she found Jemima and Sara's Tugger all cuddled up on the couch in the living room. Taylor grinned. “Would you look at that? Two other hearts that have found each other. I'm looking forward to hear what Sara thinks of this.”

Meanwhile, Victoria had reached the huge platform in the main dancing hall and she took the microphone. “Hello Ladies and Gentleman. I really am sorry to interrupt this wonderful party, but I've got something very important to say. I am so happy and I would like to share this happiness with everyone present.” She sent some venomous glares in direction of Sara, who had just entered the hall, hand in hand with Jack.

“Jack, Darling. Would you please come up here with me?” Victoria asked sweetly, batting her eyelashes.

Jack released Sara's hand and climbed up on the platform. He was a bit confused and nervous, since he didn't know what Vicky was planning. But like everyone else present, he was also curious as to what she had to say.

Smiling tenderly at him, she announced, “Jack, Darling, you are going to be a Daddy soon.”

While Sara paled from shock after she heard that, Jack was blinking in surprise. “What?”

“Yes, my love. Be happy. I am pregnant!” She hugged him and the whole hall was echoing from the cheers and clapping of the guests.

Happily sighing, Catherine leaned against Jonathan. “That is so wonderful.”

From the corner of her eye, Victoria saw how Sara stumbled dismayed out of the door. ‘Yes, you didn't expect that, bitch, did you? He is my man and I will never let him go.'

Richard ran after Sara. “Sara! Please, wait!”

“NO! I'm not going to stay here another second! I made such a fool of myself!” she raved, hurt and upset about the turn of events. “It's not enough that she is his fiancée. No, now she is also pregnant by him. Why? Why did I get my hopes up?”

Meanwhile, they had reached the road and Sara stopped the first cab she saw. She opened the door and sat down on the backseat.

Richard grabbed the door. “Sara, please, let's talk about it.”

“THERE IS NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT!” she yelled and closed the door with a bang.

The cab raced off into the night, leaving Richard behind. In his upset state of mind, he kicked angrily against a nearby trash bin and cursed strongly.

Greatly frustrated, Taylor switched off the TV. Not even her favorite cartoon show was able to distract her. She sat there for a while, staring at the blank screen. And then she could hear it.

Samantha's whimpering drifted downstairs.

“Okay, now it's enough. I will find out what's wrong right now and if it kills me!”

She went upstairs and knocked at the door. “Sammy? May I please come in?”

She didn't get an answer.

Hesitantly, the girl turned the knob and the door opened a crack. “Sammy?”

The brunette jerked and quickly sat up, hurriedly wiping her tears away.

Slowly, Taylor walked towards her and lowered her small frame on the edge of Sam's bed. “Please, tell me what's wrong.”

“Nothing,” came the answer in a small, choked up voice.

“If there is nothing wrong then why are you crying?”

Samantha sighed. “You can't understand. You are too young.”

Taylor's eyes widened. “What stupid remark is that? From which soap opera did you get that? How can you know that I won't understand it? You have not told me anything yet. What happened? You were having so much fun at the Costume Ball and then suddenly you wanted to go home and you didn't want me to tell Liz. Did you have a fight with my sister?”

“Then where is the problem?”

Sam's lower lip trembled and she whimpered, “It hurts! It just hurts so bad!”

“Do I need to call a doctor?” Taylor exclaimed in shock. “Where are you hurting?”

Samantha placed a hand above her heart. “Inside here,” she answered softly. “It feels as if it is going to break apart.”

“Oh Sammy...”

Tears were streaming down the brunette's face as she said, “She will return to him and there is nothing I can do to prevent it. I lost my Angel.”

Taylor had a slight idea what Samantha meant, but she needed to make sure. “Whom are you talking about?”

“Liz is going to marry Alexander.”

“WHAAAAAAT???” Taylor shouted, almost hysterically. “I don't believe that! Not in this life!”

“But that's how it is,” Sam sobbed.

“How... how can you know?” The girl looked at her with a questioning frown. “Did she tell you?”

“Not in the exact words, but I am not stupid. She said that things will change for us this evening... and in the next moment I see her kissing that disgusting guy. I think that speaks for itself.”

“Maybe he forced himself upon her. It wouldn't be the first time. You know how he is,” Taylor threw in. “If she really would be intending to marry him then she would have said it.”

Samantha felt helpless. “But... what else could she have meant when she made that comment about changes to me?”

“I don't know,” Taylor replied and shrugged her shoulders. “You will have to talk with her.”

“I need to think,” Sam muttered.

“Okay, if you need anything, I'll be downstairs.” The teenager turned to leave.

“Thank you.”

Wrinkling her forehead, the girl replied, “I don't know what for, but you are welcome.”

As soon as Taylor had left the room, Sam opened her medallion and looked at the face of her angel. “Liz...”

Alexander now saw his chance to be the center of attention and he used it. He looked at his mother, who grinned broadly and gave him a thumbs-up in confirmation.

Alex jumped upon the platform and took the microphone. “It seems that this evening is wonderful for big announcements so I would like to say something too.”

The gathered crowd laughed.

“There is a person, who owes me an answer to a very important question. For quite a while now she has been avoiding this. Maybe the reason for that is that I did not ask her the proper way.”

With a scowl on her face, Elizabeth chose that moment to return from her talk with Danielle. The expression of her face spoke volumes, but Alex didn't seem to notice it.

“Ah, there she is. The beloved apple of my eye,” he said grinning and waved at her. Then he went down on one knee. “Sweetheart, I'm going to ask you again and I hope that this time you will not make me wait for an answer. Do you want to marry me and be my wife for eternity?”

Inside, Liz was boiling with anger. “We have to talk,” she hissed. “Alone and right now!”

Alexander was stunned. He covered the microphone with one hand so that nobody else would be able to hear him and told her, “Uh... okay... why don't you go upstairs to my room. I'll be with you in a second.”

Elizabeth disappeared and Alex turned back to the waiting crowd. “Please excuse me, “ he apologized with a broad grin. “My fiancée is demanding my attention.”

Furiously, she was pacing in Alexander's room. “That bastard! I can't believe his nerve! He's acting as if nothing at all happened!” Her eyes darted all over the room until they suddenly stopped at an object that was very familiar to her. “This is Sam's medallion! How did it get here?” She took it and put it in a pocket of her dress. Then she crossed her arms in front of her chest and waited for Alexander, a dark glare firmly fixed on her usually so soft features. “You've got lots of explaining to do, buddy.”

Taylor jumped off the couch and raced to the door as the doorbell rang. She opened it and looked into the tear-stained face of her friend. “Sara?”

The other girl just went past her and fell on the couch.

Taylor knew that something must have happened and from the looks of it, it wasn't anything good. “Oh no. Everything seems to go wrong today.” She went back to the living room.

Sara had Tugger on her lap and was stroking his fur.

“Uh... Sara?” Taylor started hesitantly. “Why are you not with Jack?”

Sara took a deep breath and then she practically exploded. “SHE IS PREGNANT BY HIM!!!” she roared. “THAT DAMN BITCH!”

“Uh... whom are you talking about?”

Sara glared at her. “Who do you think?! Vicky, of course! She did it! She managed to tie him to herself forever. He always wanted to have a family. Now I've lost him forever.”

“Awww shit.”

“Yeah. You can say that again. I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Now everything is over.”

“But maybe...”

“No, Taylor. He will not leave her. Now, he will feel responsible for his child. Besides, he is not seeing Vicky for what she really is.”

The next minutes dragged by in silence.

“Does that mean you will go back home?” Taylor inquired in a small voice. She was a bit worried about her friend.

Sara shook her head. “No. Running away won't accomplish anything. Been there, done that. I think I'll go to bed. Good night.” She took Tugger and went to the guestroom of the Stuart house, where she had been living since her return to Los Angeles.

Taylor sank down on the couch.

Jemima climbed on her lap and looked at her.

Taylor tenderly brushed her index finger against the cat's nose. “Be glad that you are a cute little pussycat that doesn't have to be concerned about matters of the heart.” She exhaled sharply. “It's a good thing I'm keeping away from stuff like that. It only causes trouble, trouble, trouble.”

Alexander walked into his room and closed the door behind him. He was curious as to what Liz would have to say. In fact, he hoped that their little tug-o-war concerning their marriage would finally come to an end. “So, sweetheart, what's wrong?”

Elizabeth glared at him. “You honestly dare to ask me that? I can't believe it!”

He lifted his hands helplessly in the face of her anger. “I don't understand why you are so upset.”

“I have had enough!” She shoved the picture under his nose and saw his eyes widen. “I know everything, Alex. Danielle told me everything.”

“It's not what it looks like... “ he tried to explain, but she cut him off with a rough hand motion.

“You are denying it? Even though I'm holding the proof in my hand?”

“You believe this drug-addicted bimbo more than your fiancé?”

“Yes, I do,” Liz nodded. “I should have noticed far sooner how you really are.”

He rolled his eyes. “My God, I was weak one time and you are acting like it's such a tragedy.”

Shaking her head about his lame excuse, she said, “Alex, it's over once and for all. I'm breaking off our engagement and I never want to see you again.”

Now, he grew angry too and roared, “Yeah, and now you are going home to your jungle savage, whom you have been fucking the whole time behind my back anyway!”

She slapped him harshly across the face. “You are disgusting!” Then Elizabeth stormed from the room, down the stairs and stepped in front of the press people. She forced a fake smile on her face. “I think you all are probably very curious about my answer. There will be no wedding!”

Alexander joined her on the platform and hissed, “Liz, please, let's talk about this.”

The blonde just scowled at him. “I've made my decision!” She slid the ring off her finger and let it drop to the floor. After that she left the hall.

Immediately, the reporters centered their attention on the Parker clan and flooded them with questions.

Alexander was so angry like never before in his life. He clenched his hands to fists so hard that the knuckles turned white. ‘Now you are going to get it, you little bitch!'

Danielle had gone outside to get some fresh air. She was looking at the night sky and at the many , bright-sparkling stars as she was suddenly grabbed from behind. Her eyes widened in fear as she found herself face to face with an exasperated Greg, better known as Alexander Parker.

“You stupid cunt!” he yelled, holding her upper arms tightly in a bruising grip. “Why couldn't you keep your fucking mouth shut?! You destroyed everything!”

“I couldn't continue living with a lie,” she whimpered, trying to get away from him.

“That doesn't give you the right to fuck up my life!” He pressed her harshly into the wall, leaving more bruises along her spine.

“Let me go, you are hurting me,” she sobbed.

“I don't care! It's time that I teach you a lesson!”

In the next instant he felt a pat on his shoulder. As he turned around, a fist smashed right into his face. Dizzy from the hit, he slid to the ground.

Sobbing, Danielle threw herself into the arms of her savior. “Oh Eli. Thank God that you are here.”

“Are you alright?”

She nodded. “You saved me.”

He held her tight and stroked her head as he felt her beginning to tremble. “Let's call the police. That son of a bitch belongs behind bars,” he spat.

It was the middle of the night, as Christopher unlocked the door and led Elizabeth inside the house, who was completely drunk. “Alesh ish shuch a shon of a bitsh,” she muttered and stumbled again for the hundredth time.

“Yes, I know.”

“I hate... him...” her words were accompanied by hick-ups.

“Everybody hates him.”

“But Sham... Sham ish... sho nishe... I shink... I shink I lo... I shink I love... “ Liz blinked and then looked frowning at her brother. “Chrish... where are... we going?”

He held on tighter to her to help her up the stairs. “I'm bringing you upstairs to bed so that you can sleep.”

Elizabeth grumbled something. On the first step, she giggled and then started to sing ‘Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride' at the top of her lungs.

Christopher quickly covered her mouth with a hand. “Liz, hush! You are going to wake up the whole house.”

That dismayed her. “Oh... shorry... ya know... it ish Sham's favo... favorite shong from ‘Li... from ‘Lilo&Shtitsh'...”

“Yes, I know. Now, please, be quiet.”

She nodded and gave him a goofy grin. “'kay... Lish hush...”

Finally they had reached the room and Chris helped his drunk and drowsy sister to get out of her Angel costume.

Liz' eyes though didn't stray from the sleeping brunette. “She ish sho beauti... she ish sho beautiful... and her coshtume wash sho pretty...” Blinking, she looked at her brother and remarked chuckling, “Chrishy... you got... pointy earsh... funny...” Then her eyes rolled back in her head and she slid boneless to the floor.

Christopher managed to catch her and carried her to bed, where he lay her down and covered her with the blanket. He brushed some blonde strands of hair out of her forehead. “It was the right decision to finally send that asshole packing. I think tomorrow though you will have a major headache. But, if Sam is taking care of you, I'm sure you will forget that quickly.” Grinning he left the room.

***** TWO DAYS LATER *****

Samantha was sitting on a mat at the Dojo, waiting for Michiru to appear. During that, she thought about everything that had occurred in the past few days. “I don't understand it", she mumbled to herself. "At the Costume Ball, Liz really wanted to tell me something and I thought she would marry Alexander. Yesterday though, she told the whole family that there will be no wedding. I just can't shake off the feeling that she is keeping something from me. But, what could it be?”

Abruptly, she was brought out of her contemplating as Michiru entered the hall. “Hey, you are already here,” she smiled at her. “I got through the training session with Taylor quicker than I thought. I'll go and change clothes and then we can start.”

Sam nodded and returned the smile. “How is the baby doing?” she inquired.

Michiru rubbed her swollen belly. “As always, it is very active. I can barely wait until it is born and I can get back in shape. At the moment I'm feeling like a ball on two legs. Then there is Billy, who follows me around almost everwhere and acts like the world's biggest mother hen. I really will be glad when it's over.”

Samantha grinned.

“Let's talk about something else. How was it at the Costume Ball?”

Sam's features turned to stone.

Michiru wrinkled her forehead. “What's wrong? Did you not like it?”

“I don't want to talk about it.” It came out harsher than she had intended.

In a calming motion, the Asian woman raised her hands. “Okay, you don't need to talk about it if you don't want to. I'm not going to force you.” Then she went to change her clothes.

As she returned, she found Sam still sitting in the same spot, staring off into space, lost in thought.

‘Something happened. She seems confused.' Michiru thought to herself. “Sam?”

The brunette looked up as she heard her name.

“If there is something on your mind that bothers you, you know that you can talk with me about anything, right?”

Samantha nodded, but kept her mouth shut.

Michiru saw that she wouldn't get anything out of her. “Okay, let's start with some exercises.”

Jack sat on the couch in his house. He had the laptop on his knees and tried in vain to concentrate on work. “Just what am I supposed to do? Should I stay with Victoria or should I give the love of my life a chance? The thing is, I don't think I'm ever going to get a chance to live my life with Sara. And what about the child that Vicky carries inside her? Should I abandon it? No, no, I couldn't do that. I don't want that my son or daughter have to grow up without their father. They shall not have to endure the same things that I had to go through. I always wanted to have a real family and here is my chance for that. I will take up the responsibility of being a father. The child will be first priority and come above all else.”

Unconsciously, he had opened a file on his laptop that showed a picture of a smiling Sara. One last time, he regarded her soft features. Then he clicked on ‘delete' and the picture faded to nothing. “Goodbye, Sara Jones... love of my life. We just were not meant to be together.”

As Victoria came home, she was very happy to find her fiancé sitting on the couch. “Hey Darling,” she called out, grinning broadly. “Did you miss me?”

“Do you really have to ask that, princess? Of course. I always miss you when you are not around me. What's going to happen with your brother now?”

Vicky snorted. “Oh, Mom is trying to bail him out, but I don't think it's going to be that easy this time. Danielle Stiehl has too much evidence against him.” She took the laptop off his knees and sat down on the newly free place on his lap. Stroking his cheeks, she said, “But, I didn't come home to talk about Alex. I have missed you so much my cuddle-bear.” She leaned forward and placed hot kisses against his throat. “The whole day I've been thinking of only you, Jacky-Boy,” Victoria breathed.

He cupped her cheeks, making her look at him. “Maybe we shouldn't do that. Won't it hurt the baby?”

She chuckled. “Nonsense.”

“No, Vicky, really. Stop. I'm not in the mood.”

With a roguish grin, she raised an eyebrow. “Oh, I think I have ways to change that.” She opened the buttons of his shirt and her hands wandered closer and closer to his belt. Gently, she nibbled at his earlobe and he moaned. “I know exactly what turns you on, Babe,” Vicky chuckled victoriously. “What about your mood now?”

Not answering, Jack just picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.

“I knew I would be able to convince you.”

As Samantha came out of the Dojo, she looked around for Liz' car but could only find Karen, who waved at her. She opened the passenger door, slid in and fastened her seatbelt. “Where is Liz?”

“She has some more work to do,“ Karen replied. “That's why she sent me to pick you up and drive you home. How was the training?”

“It was okay. Ms. Kasawaki said she'll be glad once the baby is born.”

“Yeah, I can imagine that. It shouldn't be much longer though.”

“For how much longer is Liz going to work tonight?” Sam asked.

“I honestly don't know.”

The brunette sighed and then pouted a bit. “What am I supposed to do all by myself the whole time alone at home?”

“Why alone?” Karen inquired, confused. “Taylor and Sara are there, or are they not?”

Samantha shook her head in denial. “They are at the movies, watching a Star Wars marathon. All movies in a row.”

“Oh. I'm sorry.” They were silent for a few minutes as Karen steered the car through the horrible traffic. “Now, I remember, I got a DVD that you could watch.”

Sam grinned. “Is it a cartoon?”

“Uh... no... but maybe you'll still like it. It's a very great movie.”

“Okay, I'll watch it since I don't have anything better to do anyway. What's the name of the movie?”

“And what is it about?”

Karen chuckled. “Really, Sam. If I tell you everything already then you won't need to watch it. Just watch it and you'll see.”

‘This will probably come as a shock to her. But if Liz is too chicken to take the first step into the right direction then Sam must do it.'

The telephone in Michiru's loft rang and Billy picked up. “Hello?”

There was only silence at the other end of the line.

“Hello?” Billy asked again.

“Yes... uh... hi.”

Billy wrinkled his forehead. “Who is this?”

“It's Juan Rodriguez.”

He froze and the receiver nearly slipped from his fingers. “Oh. What do you want?”

“Uh... well... I...”

All of a sudden Billy felt anger raise up in his guts and he snapped, “Since when is Mr. Latino Superstar stuttering? That's really something new.”

“Billy... please listen to me... I...”

But he cut him off. He had been hurt too bad by Juan's behavior. “No, you will listen to me!” Billy demanded. “I'm not in the mood for your games. First you kiss me and then you run away just like that. For months you have disappeared without a word! I'm not going to let you play me for a fool any longer.”

“No, Billy... wait and let me...”

Angrily, he pressed a button and the call was stopped. “Puh, men! It's always the same. Sometimes I really wish I would be into women. Then I wouldn't have so many problems with my love life.”

Many miles away, Juan sat on the bed of his hotel room, still holding the phone and staring at it. “Once the tour is over, I'll fly back to Los Angeles. I will tell Billy everything. I will finally reveal my true feelings to him.”

Samantha was sitting on the couch in the living room with a bowl of strawberries on her lap and pressed ‘play' on the DVD recorder remote control. “Let's see how good this movie will be.”

It was only a few minutes into the movie when the actresses were throwing seducing glances at each other and Sam wrinkled her forehead. “That's really strange, one could think that Violet wants Corky to...” She felt her cheeks flush as a thought popped into her head. “No, that's impossible.”

She continued eating her strawberries without taking her eyes off the screen. Then she came upon the scene where Violet tells Corky exactly what she wants from her. Sam's eyes opened wide in disbelief, her jaw nearly hit the floor and a piece of strawberry fell out of her mouth. “They... they... they are kissing... why... what...” The scene between the two women was interrupted by the arrival of Violet's boyfriend.

Sam pressed the pause button and the image froze. She placed the bowl with the fruits on the low table in front of her and wiped her face. “It is possible that two women can share this?... but Emily never said anything about that. She only said that a man and a woman can do that and if they do then only when they are married...”

She began to think about her dreams where she was kissing Elizabeth. “Could it be that I feel for Liz the same way these two women are feeling for each other? I want to be with her day and night. I feel so wonderful when she is close to me. When she hugs me or looks at me so lovingly I have so many butterflies whirling in my belly.”

While she was brooding, she reached for the remote and continued the movie. Her eyes grew as big as saucers as Violet and Corky gave in to each other and got lost in passion. “Oh my God,” Samantha whispered, blue eyes wide in surprise. She felt herself growing warm and there was a weird tingling sensation in her loins.

“Hello! I'm back!” Elizabeth called out from the corridor after she had entered.

Quickly, Sam hit ‘stop' and switched off the DVD recorder. Her face was bright red and she was slightly sweaty. “Uh... hi. I thought you had to work late?”

“Yeah, but I got done quicker than I thought,” Liz responded and walked into the living room. As she saw Sam's condition she hurried over to her and placed a hand on the brunette's forehead. “Sam? What's wrong with you?” she asked concerned. “Are you running a fever?”

Sam's feelings were on a wild rollercoaster ride and to feel Liz' hand on her skin, even though it was just her forehead, didn't help with that. She took the other woman's hand off her forehead and jumped from the couch. “I... there is nothing wrong... uh... I... I gotta go shower!”

“I... I'll be back in a minute!” Not seeing the blonde's concerned eyes, she raced upstairs and locked herself in the bathroom. Leaning her back against the door, she sighed. “What am I supposed to do? I want Liz like Violet wants Corky but I always thought that only men and women can be together in that way. Why, just why did Karen have to give me that DVD?” The scenes were flashing in her mind. The only difference was that the movie in her head was not featuring the two actresses. There she saw herself in a passionate embrace with a certain small blonde.

Samantha squeezed her eyes shut tightly. “Don't think about it. Just don't think about it. Liz must never know of this. Not ever!”

Lost in thought, Michiru was walking through the grocery store, pushing a cart.

“Hello, my lotus blossom,” someone said behind her.

Her heart skipped a beat and she turned around, her face darkening as she saw him standing there, smiling at her. “Jonathan.”

He was still smiling, not minding her cold greeting. “It is so wonderful to see you again. I have missed you.”

“I can't say the same!” she snapped harshly.

Jonathan sighed. “You are never going to forgive me, aren't you?”

“Not in this life.”

Her eyes flashed dangerously. “I don't want to hear another word,” she hissed. “You made me think that your family was dead! But then I see you on TV... happy with your wife and two adult children! How do you think that made me feel?” Her voice rose in volume.

His eyes darted around, hoping that nobody was hearing their discussion. Raising his hands in a calming motion, he told her, “Please, calm down, Michiru.”

“I DON'T WANT TO CALM DOWN!” she yelled, enraged.

A few people turned to look at them.

“Michiru, please, I...”

Covering her face with her hands, she exhaled sharply, before she glared at him again. “I'm very emotional at the moment. I think it's better you disappear before I forget my good manners!” She pushed past him and went to the cashier.

Jonathan watched her leave. ‘She is as beautiful as ever. And now that she is pregnant... Hold on... she is pregnant? She can't be pregnant. She said she is infertile...'

He followed her and managed to catch her at the parking lot where she was putting her goods into the trunk of her car. “Michiru...”

“Please leave me alone!”

“I just want to know one thing. Is it mine?”

She frowned. “Is what yours?”

“Your baby. Am I the father?”

“Yeah, you would like that, wouldn't you?” she snarled. “No, fortunately for me the child is not yours! It is from a very nice man, who is waiting for me at home.” Michiru slammed the trunk lid shut with all her might, seeing him jump at the loud bang. “May I drive home now?”

“You would tell me if it were mine, wouldn't you?”

Not answering, she just entered her car and drove off.

Dejected, Jonathan looked after the car. “I love you, Michiru,” he muttered under his breath.

Steering her car through the traffic, Michiru was fighting the tears that burned hotly in her eyes. “That bastard! Couldn't he just leave me alone? I was over him. I didn't even have to think about him constantly anymore. And then he suddenly stands in front of me, asking if he is the father of my child. I have to get home as quickly as possible. I'm not going to let thoughts of him influence my life any longer. Why did I have to go shopping today? I should have let Billy go.”
