You Did This

When I think of the change you have brought to my life

I'm amazed that one person could make so much difference

But you have truly turned my life around

Where once my soul churned with anger, resentment and

pain

It's now filled with light and hope and love

And where once I trusted no one

You now hold my trust close to your heart

You cherish it, and protect it fiercely

And while I'm not ready to embrace the world

The door is at least cracked open

You did that, for I kept it firmly closed, and locked

You've made me accept the possibility of a new beginning

And for the first time, I'm willing to try

As long as you are by my side

Holding my hand, and giving me that part of you that

makes me whole
