Part 15
A year after Wally and Dannie moved to Wyoming , the group was again reunited as everyone was hired by Radford Designs, now a division of Terra Corporation. Wally and Dannie bought several hundred acres of land upon which Wally built several of her designs. These houses were occupied by her friends, Rachel and Lara, Kalie and Jim, Marge and Anne, Lisa and her son, and sometime later Bobby and Cindy.
All the houses were smaller ranches within the bigger property and were about 40 minutes from the city. In the higher elevation of the property, on the top of the biggest hill, Wally built her most beautiful design to be their home. She named it 'The Pinnacle' and gave it to Dannie for her birthday gift as a reminder that it was she who took them there.
They always kept their house in Middleburg , Virginia because it was the very first house that Wally ever built and their first home. They often flew there when they wanted to spend time alone, away from business and friends. They loved to go there and relax, and at night skinny-dip in the hot tub off their room.
Annie attended a private school and either Dannie or Wally were always there to drop off and pick up. Wally spent endless hours of her life teaching Annie to draw and enjoying every minute of it. She loved her little princess and they became inseparable. To Annie, Wally was always her hero. Dannie never ceased to be amazed of how well they got along.
Even during Annie's college graduation, Dannie was in awe of the extraordinary woman sitting next to her, who had been so influential in her daughter's life and had flipped her life in such a way that she had changed it all. Wally caught her looking at her.
“What are you looking at proud mom?”
Dannie smiled. “I was just looking at the most extraordinary woman I've ever met and thinking about the phone that brought us together. That phone didn't just change your life, it also changed mine, Annie's and the lives of all our friends. I love you Waverly Radford.”
Wally grinned. “It sure was worth the $499!” They both laughed and held hands as they watched their daughter receive her diploma. Wally kissed Dannie's hand and whispered in her ear. "I love you too, and can't wait to worship you tonight, my goddess."
"How long will this ceremony take?" Dannie asked grinning.
Wally laughed and kissed her hand again. Dannie was, and always remained, the manager of all of Wally's business enterprises. Nothing was ever done without Dannie's specific approval. Lara and Max Campbell were always in charge of legal affairs. Rachel, Marge, Anne, and Lisa performed many duties, but above all they were Wally's eyes and ears in all the projects and protected the interest of the corporation as their own. It was, in fact, in their best interests also because they profited not only from their salaries, but from their many benefits and perks, among which was free housing, in no other than Radford designed home.
Bobby and Cindy joined them as soon as Cindy finished her degree, and together with Bobby they gradually took over the IT operations of the business. This was a very special and important post because it safeguarded, among many other things Wally's proprietary and unique software. The day, Bobby was given that responsibility, Wally personally spoke to her and told her that she trusted no one but her for that post.
Bobby took her job and privilege to heart and along with the others, pledged allegiance to the true friend
