Gabrielle moaned dreamily in the warm night air as she felt a gentle hand softly attempt to shake her from Morpheus' realm. But why would she want to leave? For the first time in months she finally had Xena all to herself in the most delicious position. She licked her lips in anticipation. There was no way she was going to let reality interrupt this dream. Nope, she was staying right where she was.
With a small groan and a lazy wave of her hand, she was determined on shooing away whoever was trying to ruin her pleasant dream. Much to her chagrin however, the gentle shake persisted. Grabbing her blanket, Gabrielle hauled it up and over her head to try and block out reality and to try and preserve the waning dream. No good. She felt the blanket being hauled back ever so gently.
"Gabrielle…" a soft whisper tickled her ear followed by soft lips ever so gently nipping at her earlobe.
A tired but bright smile graced the sleeping bard's angelic face as a moan of wanting escaped her lips. She smiled into her blanket as she felt light kisses caressing her exposed neck. This dream was getting better and better.
"Wake up," came the seductive voice once again. "I've got a surprise for you."
Gabrielle's eyes fluttered open as her dreamscape shattered away only to be replaced by another dream staring down at her. Looking up at Xena's smiling face, silhouetted in the cascading moonlight almost made her heart skip a beat. Without saying a word, she let herself be hauled to her feet, their eye contact never breaking as Xena bent down and planted a gentle kiss on her lover's lips.
"Follow me." She whispered into that kiss as the warrior stole the bard's hand and began leading her a short distance away from their camp.
"What about Eve?" Gabrielle whispered with slight concern.
"Don't worry, we're not going far." Xena smiled confidently with a twinkle in her eye.
Seeing Xena's smile and the silent joy and passion dancing within those eyes prompted an uncontrolled shiver of desire to run through the bard's anxious body. The prospect of being alone with Xena after so long made butterflies form in her stomach. She even felt the giddiness of a young girl sneaking away to steal that first kiss behind the barn settle in the pit of her stomach. The anticipation was nearly killing her until they broke through several small brushes to behold a breathtaking view.
Gabrielle stopped dead in her tracks as she gasped in awe at the moonlit glade under the light of the full moon. The luminescent light lent an air of etherealness to her surroundings. She felt another gentle tug on her hand and turned to behold the surreal glow around Xena from the moon's brightness. Her mouth went slack at her beauty.
"Come on." Xena prompted with an anxious grin.
Again, Gabrielle let herself be led by the woman of her dreams. She never noticed it before, but now she saw a blanket spread out on the ground basking in the moonlight. A basket of fruits rested on a corner of the blanket invitingly. A bottle of wine sat in the middle of the blanket accompanied by two goblets.
"Oh Xena!" Gabrielle breathed with happiness as Xena lead her down to the blanket as the dark warrior sat excitingly close.
"It's been awhile since we've had some time for ourselves. I figured we could use a little Us time." Xena smiled as she purposely reached across Gabrielle for the bottle of wine and 'accidentally' rubbed up against her on her way back. Giving an innocent smile, Xena proceeded to pour each of them a drink.
Putting the bottle down, Xena leaned closer to Gabrielle and raised her goblet in a toast. "To us."
"To us." Gabrielle repeated as their eyes remained locked in an intensive look. In that one look, all their want and love and desire for one another was conveyed. Seeing Xena's passion mirrored in her eyes made it very difficult to finish the glass of wine without just throwing it aside and making love to the warrior who had captured her heart. But she resisted the urge favoring instead to savor the moment. After all, it's been quite some time since they've last been together, who knew when the chance would arise again.
Slowly, torturously, their lusting fingers caressed the others exposed flesh as they half-heartedly finished their sweet wine. They each moaned at the intimate, but limited contact as their breathing grew heavy with passion. Gabrielle couldn't take it anymore; she needed to taste the sweetness of Xena's lips. She needed Xena in more ways than one.
Gently capturing Xena's fingers between her lips as they traced by her chin, she softly began to suck on each digit, which elicited very erotic sounds from the warrior princess. Reluctantly though, Xena pulled her fingers away with a regretful groan from not only herself, but her bard as well.
"Not yet." She whispered as she kissed the nap of the bard's neck, while reaching for the fruit basket. "I have something else planned first." She added with a seductive grin.
Xena hauled out a small cluster of red grapes and started to pluck one from the vine it was attached to. "Open wide." She said playfully as her long fingers slowly pushed the firm fruit into the bard's watering mouth. Again, before the fingers could leave, Gabrielle managed to playfully snatch one and licked it on its way out, which brought a smile to Xena's face accompanied by a shooting desire to her core.
Refusing to let Xena have all the fun, Gabrielle stole a grape of her own and placed it between her teeth and moved ever so slowly towards Xena. With a look that had desire written all over it, Xena leaned forward and captured the proffered fruit with her own mouth. Their lips brushed ever so softly. Gabrielle's tongue snaked out to lick Xena's retreating lips. To her surprise, it was quickly captured in a kiss filled with such hunger and longing that it left her gasping for air when they broke.
For Gabrielle, that was all it took. That one scorching kiss, full of promises of what was yet to come, burst the gate of patience and restraint. The grapes in her hand fell uncaringly to the blanket as she wrapped her arms around her warrior and stole a kiss she refused to let end.
Xena smiled inwardly at her bard's appetite. Once upon a time it was food the young bard could never get enough of. It pleased the warrior immensely to see that it was now her that the younger woman had an insatiable appetite for.
Engulfed in a searing kiss, Gabrielle slowly used her weight to push the willing warrior down to the blanket. Their wandering hands caressed each other's bodies as they searched for doorways to naked flesh. Teeth nipped and lips sucked during their lustful frenzy. Articles of clothing willingly came off as their love took control of their movements. Their breathing had become erratic and wanting. And then, without warning, it all stopped as Xena sat bolt up right holding a hand up to the bard to listen.
"Xena, what is it?" Asked the breathless bard, her heart pounding uncontrollably from the excitement.
"Hold that thought." Xena said as she gave her lover a quick, but passionate kiss. "It's Eve. I'll be right back."
With a sigh of frustration, Gabrielle watched as Xena took off in a sprint through the bushes to their camp where baby Eve was suppose to be sleeping soundly. She strained for a moment and finally heard the baby's soft cries lessen and slowly die away as Xena's beautiful voice rose up in a child's lullaby.
Hearing Xena singing was always a treat because of its rarity. As she sat back on her elbows letting the warm air dance over her heated body, Gabrielle closed her eyes and listened to the mesmerizing song drift on the wind. If her body hadn't been in a state of over excitement, Xena's voice would surely have sent her into a content sleep.
As it was, hearing her lover's sweet voice only succeeded in warming her loins that much more. Images of Xena holding her in her strong arms singing love songs made her long for her lover all that much more. She felt her own hands wandering over her body where she imagined the hands of her warrior's should be. As the moments went by, a smile snuck onto her face as she realized she was no longer alone and neither were her hands.
Dream filled eyes cracked open and saw her hearts desire had returned to her. The final strips of clothing left on the bard had been removed to expose her finely chiseled body to the graces of the full moon. Xena pushed her bard back on the blanket and leaned her body over her lover's.
"Now," She smiled her brilliant smile. "Where were we?"
"I believe you were about to seduce me." Gabrielle added lustfully before leaning up and capturing her lover's sweet lips and hauling her back down with her.
Their kiss was slow and long, building their passion once again to explosive heights as hands continued their exploring. Countless moments seemed to pass before Xena's wandering mouth teased and stimulated sensitive flesh finally working her way down. Gabrielle's eyes rolled back in her head as she felt Xena's expert tongue and fingers working their magic. Her own hands clenched and unclenched at the blanket to her sides. Glancing up into the night sky near the peak of her passion, Gabrielle saw the moon smiling down on them. The stars grew brighter to near supernova proportions. Her body was ready to explode. She soared higher and higher and then…nothing.
Sweating, panting and extremely agitated, Gabrielle focused her flaring green eyes on Xena as she removed herself from her comfortable position and began re-adjusting her leathers.
"What now?!" The exasperated bard demanded as her head swam from the pent up passion.
"I'm really sorry." Xena answered apologetically as she unconsciously licked her lips. "The baby…"
This time, Gabrielle heard baby Eve's crying and fell back onto the blanket waving an idle hand to Xena telling her to 'go'. Another kiss and Xena was heading off towards their camp once again.
Gabrielle raised her head for a second to watch her lover disappear through the brushes and then let her head fall back down to the ground.
"Argh!" She cried out through clenched teeth. This was driving her crazy!
Her tongue ran over her lips tasting the sweetness Xena had left behind. This single taste made her toes curl in frustration and made her body throb for a release at having been brought to the edge and left wanting. Hades himself couldn't have thought up a more cruel torture.
Then, she heard the brushes rustling once again. There was no way she was going to let opportunity pass her by again. Her body tensed with anxiety as she prepared herself to pounce on the unsuspecting warrior. A wry grin spread across her face. Nothing was going to interrupt them this time. With a barely audible growl of pleasure, Gabrielle pounced as Xena stepped into view.
Mid-pounce, Gabrielle aborted her plan of attack. There, walking from the bushes was Xena carrying baby Eve as the baby suckled on a breast hungrily. The dispirited bard crashed down to her knees in the cool grass as she cupped her face pitifully shaking her head from side to side. "The Fates must hate me. They hate me!" She lamented into the palm of her hands over and over again.
Xena licked her lips before trying to console the despondent woman. "She was hungry and…I…I mean we can…you know…later?" That didn't come out right. Xena's mouth went dry. 'She understands doesn't she?' Again she licked her suddenly dry lips in another attempt at an explanation as she watched Gabrielle pick herself up from the soft grass and walked towards the blanket.
"That's why she was crying…it won't be much longer now." Xena watched Gabrielle slip back into her clothing, removed the items from the blanket and swung the blanket over one shoulder. She bent down once again to retrieve the other items. "Gabrielle, I'm sorry…" Xena's voice was very sympathetic as Gabrielle finished what she was doing and turned back towards Xena and the baby.
"It's all right." The bard smiled a loving smile to show that she didn't mind or that her body was just about ready to explode from the lack of release. And then she added with a sly grin. "Just do me a favor next time…get a babysitter."
A smile of relief crossed Xena's face. "I promise." She leaned down and kissed her bard to seal the promise before draping her free arm around the love of her life as they headed back towards their campsite.
