Shannon held her breath as she paced around the small courtyard where the old stone wishing well stood. The courtyard was out of place in the woods just beyond the dormitories. The small blonde replayed the legend in her head over and over again. The wishing well was built as a place for the young women who attended the all girls’ college to sit and contemplate. The legend was that if you gave someone you’ve hidden your heart from a single rose on Valentines Day after the sun had set and before the clock tower chimed midnight and they accepted the rose then the two of you belonged together. If the person refused then you should toss the rose into the well so the one who deserved your heart would bring it back to you.

"This is silly." She admonished herself as she looked at her watch noting that it was almost midnight. It was her sophomore year at Leland and there was someone she had hidden her heart from, and for some bizarre reason she decided to test the legend. She twirled the white rose between her fingers. "How do I tell my best friend that I’m in love with her?" She nervously pondered as she wondered if Darcy was even going to show up? "Why should she?" She muttered miserably knowing that Darcy had been out on a date with Ken.

The sounds of approaching footsteps stirred her out of her musings. She quickly tucked the rose inside her jacket feeling her bravado quickly fading as she recognized her roommate’s footsteps. The tall brunette emerged from the dark forest with a bright smile. "Hey." The brunette greeted her with a brilliant smile that always warmed the smaller woman’s heart.

Suddenly Shannon felt as if she was doing the right thing risking the friendship that they had shared since their first day at the woman’s college when they discovered that they were to be rooming together. The friendship for the small blonde had quickly grown into something deeper that frightened her, yet she could no longer ignore her heart. "So what the hell are you doing out here?" Darcy teased. Shannon’s heart sank. "Let me guess you are out here to goof on people that actually believe that silly story?" Darcy continued brightly.

"Yeah you caught me." Shannon lied as she felt her heart shatter. "I thought it would be a hoot to see if anyone was silly enough to buy into that hokey old story."

"So anyone show up?" Darcy asked.

"No." Shannon lied once again as she felt sick. Darcy looked up at the night sky her blue eyes glimmering in the moonlight. Shannon could see the brunette’s breath caressing the air and she felt the loss encompassing her. "It is freezing out here, we should head back to the dorm." She quickly suggested eager to get back so she could bury her face in her pillow and cry. Darcy shrugged in agreement and turned to head back up the walkway into the woods. Once Darcy’s back was to her Shannon quickly grabbed the white rose and tossed into the well. Her emerald eyes welled up as she caught sight of the single white rose floating in a sea of red. Apparently she wasn’t the only one to have her heart broken that night. She brushed a tear from her cheek before she went to follow after her roommate. She left her heart and her hopes floating in the wishing well as she hurried to catch up to Darcy’s quickly retreating form.

Fifteen Years Later

Shannon found it strange to be back at Leland after so many years of now she was no longer a student she was a full professor. She walked into what was to be her new office her jaw dropped and she almost dropped the box she was carrying when she found a ghost from the past smiling back at her. "Hello roomie." Darcy said with the same husky tone that always sent a shiver down the small blonde’s spine.

"Darcy?" The blonde stammered with disbelief.

"Ah so you do remember my name." The brunette teased. "Looks like we will be rooming together again. Or at least sharing office space."

"I Uhm didn’t know you were on the faculty." Shannon stammered once again as she set her belongings down onto a desk that appeared to be devoid of use.

"It’s not liked you kept in touch." Darcy noted with a hint of sadness.

It was true. After that night on Valentines Day Shannon did everything she could to distance herself from the woman who had unintentionally broken her fragile young heart. It was the only way she could deal with her feelings. They had been close since the first day of school and suddenly Shannon was too busy to spend time with her new best friend. She knew she had hurt the tall brunette and made the remaining two years they shared a room together difficult for the both of them. She just didn’t know what else she could do. She was in love with someone who didn’t share her feelings.

"I know." Shannon muttered as she felt a pang of guilt stabbing at her. Then her mind flashed to an image she had thought was long gone. A single white rose floating in a sea of red roses. The waves of sadness still as fresh and painful as it had been that night. "Well you know how it is, Grad school and life keeps you busy."

Darcy frowned slightly at the remark. "Welcome back." She threw out with a halfhearted smile. It was broke Shannon’s heart to see the woman who had at time been her closest friend looking so sad.

"Thank you." Shannon threw out with a sincere smile vowing to bridge the gap between them. ‘It has been far too many years for me to keep hanging onto a simple crush. Time to let go.’ The blonde promised herself. "So are you going to buy me a cup of coffee and tell me all about the ins and outs of working here?" Shannon teased.

"Why am I buying the coffee?" Darcy asked with a slight smile.

"Because I’m the new kid on the block." Shannon reasoned.

"And?" Darcy laughed as she picked up her jacket.

"Keep it up and you’re going to end up owing me lunch too." Shannon threatened as she followed the taller woman out the door.

Coffee did turn into an extended lunch that day. Shannon was amazed at how quickly they fell back into an easy friendship. The sense of ease and comfort she felt with Darcy that first day of college had returned in full force. The only thing that darkened the mood was the question of why she had pushed Darcy away so many years ago. Shannon knew that she would have to face the truth; she just wasn’t ready to reveal the truth. The blonde was embarrassed by the crush that had consumed her back in college.

She now understood that her youthful heart had led her to make an irrational decision. Now that she was all grown up she found it hard to confess that she allowed her emotions to rule her. ‘I should have just told her then or waited until I out grew my attraction to her.’ She reasoned as they leisurely strolled back to the campus.

As the weeks passed Shannon was thrilled when the warmth they had shared that first day continued to grow. Sharing an office with her old friend was great as they often fell into the same playfulness they had shared when they were roommates. It wasn’t uncommon for someone to peek into the tiny office to find out just what all the laughter was about.

"Ugh." Shannon moaned as Darcy bounced into the office bright and early one morning.

"What is wrong with you?" Darcy asked as she slammed her briefcase down onto her desk. "You’re not sick are you?" The brunette asked with concern.

"Shoot me." Shannon groaned as she lifted her head.

"My God you’re hung over." Darcy laughed.

"Ssh." Shannon pleaded as she held her throbbing head in her hands. "Went to The Grove last night with some friends, big mistake." Shannon whimpered, as Darcy laughed harder.

"What were you drinking?" Darcy loudly inquired.

Shannon glared up at the brunette who seemed to be enjoying her present state of misery. "Please stop." She begged.

"Sorry." Darcy snickered.

"No you’re not." Shannon grumbled as she blinked in an effort to focus on her snickering companion. "What was I thinking?" Shannon moaned.

"Did you have fun?" Darcy asked in a quieter tone.

"I think so." Shannon moaned. "I remember having a good time until we started doing shots. Raspberry kamikazes. Never again."

"You never could hold your liquor." Darcy softly noted.

"I think I hit on the waitress." Shannon mumbled absently as she licked her very dry lips while Darcy snorted in amusement. "I’m so glad that my torment is so amusing to you."

"Just put your head back down." Darcy gently instructed her. Shannon gratefully complied with the request. She heard Darcy leave as she closed her eyes willing the pain away. As Shannon nestled her head in her arms willing the constant pounding to stop a horrifying thought suddenly struck her. She jerked her head up. "Ouch." She groaned as a sharp pain assaulted her. ‘Did I just tell Darcy I hit on the waitress?’ She panicked. In the few weeks since they had been reunited both of them never discussed relationships. Shannon wasn’t ashamed of her sexuality she just feared having to confess her crush she once had on the tall brunette.

"Hey I said put your head down." Darcy chastised her as she reentered the office.

Shannon released an agonizing groan as she placed her aching head back onto her desk. "I brought you some water and a big cup of coffee." Darcy whispered as she began to rub the blonde’s back.

"You’re a goddess." Shannon whimpered as she relaxed into the feel of Darcy’s hands running soothing circles up and down her back.

"I think that is what I said to you when you nursed me back to health after my first hangover." Darcy gently offered as she knelt next to the blonde’s chair and continued to rub her back. "Long Island Ice Teas." Darcy added. "I thought I was going to die."

Shannon hummed as she recalled the night they got drunk together for the first time in. It was just a few weeks into the first semester when they snuck into the bar and had their first taste of alcohol. It was also the first time that the blonde began to realize that she was attracted to her new friend. They drank and danced. The alcohol loosening Shannon’s inhibitions as they began to sway dangerously close to one another. The small blonde could still recall how the warmth spread through her body when Darcy’s hand brushed against her hip. The innocent action drew Shannon closer to the taller girl as she felt her body reacting to being so close to her friend.

Her heart was racing as they swayed closer and closer to one another until they were holding each other tightly. Shannon could still recall how her body was melting into Darcy’s until suddenly the brunette pulled away. Shannon had been certain that the spell had been broken, until they stumbled into their dorm room. They flopped down onto Shannon’s bed and without realizing what they were doing they wrapped each other up in a warm embrace. Shannon could feel Darcy’s breath on her skin; her mouth went dry as she felt herself being pulled into the feel of her friend’s body pressing against her own. She was so certain that Darcy was going to kiss her, until the brunette bolted up off of the bed and raced out of the room.

Shannon stumbled after her friend not surprisingly she found Darcy in the bathroom. She held her long dark hair back and rubbed Darcy’s back while the taller girl became violently ill. The next day she felt guilty over what she had wanted to happen she nursed her sick friend through her agony.

Now so many years later Shannon felt her body beginning to tingle in the same fashion as Darcy tenderly stroked her back and massaged her scalp. She jerked her head up once again startling Darcy. "I’m better." She lied as she fought against the wave of nausea. She snatched up one of the small bottles of spring water and drained it as Darcy looked on with concern. "Thanks." She sheepishly offered as she began to sip her coffee.

"So was she cute?" Darcy inquired with amusement as she stood and planted herself on the edge of the blonde’s desk.

"Huh?" Shannon choked out.

"The waitress was she cute?" Darcy encouraged her with a knowing smirk.

"Uhm yes." Shannon reluctantly acknowledged. ‘Interesting.’ She processed as she tried to hide her blush by inhaling her coffee.

Shannon was tempted to pursue the conversation yet she had her first class of the morning to face. The door had been open and Shannon felt hopeful that perhaps they could finally clear the air about the past. Yet since her body felt like Monday morning in hell she decided that she would wait until she felt better.

Shannon’s bravado didn’t last long and soon she found more time had passed and still hadn’t sat her former roommate down and explained her sexuality to her. Soon it was Halloween weekend and the campus came alive. "I love this time of year." Shannon happily exclaimed as she packed up her belongings for the night.

"Me too." Darcy agreed with a brilliant smile.

Shannon felt her breathing catch slightly as Darcy’s smile sent a chill down her spine. "So what is this memo about?" She asked in an effort to distract her from ogling the brunette.

"Halloween pranks." Darcy explained. "We are supposed to keep an eye out to make certain the girls aren’t doing anything disruptive."

"You mean like we did?" Shannon laughed.

"Exactly." Darcy confirmed. "For those of us who live near or on campus we need to make certain that no one wraps the Dean’s house with toilet paper."

"It is tradition." Shannon argued. "Hell we did that every Halloween we where here. In fact you were the only one who could throw the rolls high enough to cover the roof."

My favorite was our freshman year, you looked adorable." Darcy snorted.

"Oh yes how could I forget." Shannon grumbled. "Let's dress like Smurfs, Shannon." The blonde mimicked her. "I show up with a blue face, looking like Papa Smurf and you were dressed like Wonder Woman. I felt like an ass." Shannon recalled that her embarrassment of running around with a blue face was the least of her problems that night. Darcy looked amazing in her Wonder Woman costume. The only thing that got the petite blonde through the night was the fact that her blue make up hid the deep shade of crimson she was sporting underneath.

"You paid me back." Darcy pointed out her rich tone drawing Shannon back to the here and now. "The following year you convinced me that we should dress up like Gumby and Pokey."

"You were a fabulous Pokey." Shannon laughed.

"Yes and you were dressed like Madonna." Darcy scolded her. "You remember that the guys from Bowdich showed up for the dance. You don’t even want to know what those pigs suggested to me since I was dressed like a big orange horse."

"Hey that is how you met Ken." Shannon reasoned feeling a familiar pang of jealousy as she mentioned Darcy’s college sweetheart.

Darcy grew strangely quiet at the mention of her former beau. Not for the first time since they had been reunited Shannon wondered what ever happened to the tall good-looking man who seemed to have captured Darcy’s heart? She was just about to ask Darcy what happened between her and the man Shannon was certain the brunette would marry when Darcy’s voice cut her off.

"So what are your plans tonight?" Darcy brightly inquired.

"Handing out candy then out with friends." Shannon explained disappointed that she had missed the opportunity to ask about Darcy’s personal life. "How about you?"

"Date." Darcy shrugged as Shannon felt another pang of disappointment. "So going back to The Grove with your friends?"

"Yes, the band that is playing tonight is supposed to be really good." Shannon explained. Shannon wanted to ask about Darcy’s date and why the brunette didn’t seem very excited about it.

"Well have a good time." Darcy cut her off again. "And behave yourself with the waitress young lady." The brunette scolded her before quickly retreating from the office.

"I swear the more time I spend with the more confused I get." Shannon muttered as she stared at the empty doorway. "Let it go. It is just water under the bridge. I am not going to blow our friendship a second time." She scolded herself as she locked up the office.

The month of November passed in blur between Thanksgiving and midterms. Shannon hoped to catch her breath in December but then it was finals, preparing for the next semester and of course of the holiday hoopla made the month fly by. She and Darcy shyly exchanged simple gifts just before leaving for the holidays. Shannon felt the same nervous fluttering in her stomach she had experienced the first time the two of them had exchanged Christmas presents.

They were becoming closer with each passing day and Shannon was drowning in the familiar pang of being attracted to her friend who was clearly not interested in her. Shannon did the only thing she could think of she once again distanced herself from the brunette. It wasn’t as harsh or server as it had been during their days as undergraduates, still she could see the hurt in the brunette’s eyes. Still she held fast convinced that she just needed a little space so she could reign in her feelings. She rejected lunch invitations and became evasive about getting together over the break.

By the time the new semester had begun Shannon felt confident that she had managed to keep her overactive libido in check. Her confidence quickly faded once they were back on friendly terms again. Once again she backed away and spent time avoiding Darcy. She just couldn’t be around the tall brunette with the amazing blue eyes and incredible body.

One night in mid January Shannon was out with Brad one of her dearest friends at The Grove which was the only hot spot in the tiny college town she was laughing and joking with the tall dark haired man when something Brad said made her spit her drink out. "You are such a jerk." She choked as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Ah but you love me anyway." Brad teased as he wrapped her up in a hug.

"Bite me." She laughed as she gave him a playful shove.

"You wish." Brad retorted.

"No wonder you can’t meet a man." Shannon countered.

"Please I can get any man I want." Brad scoffed.

"Oh yes enlighten us, oh might stud muffin." Shannon giggled.

"Maybe you could enlighten me?" He teased. "That big old hunk at the bar has been watching you all night long. Get him to come over here so I can work my magic."

"He’s looking at me and you think you can get him to hop the fence. My aren’t we the cocky one." Shannon countered.

"Just do it." Brad said as he gave her playful nudge.

"And what if he doesn’t fall for your considerable charms and I’m stuck with him?" Shannon argued.

"Fine where is my dream boat?" Shannon agreed silently vowing to kill Brad if this back fired. Brad pointed to the direction of the bar. She looked around quickly. Her emerald eyes never reached the object of Brad’s desire. Her chest tightened as she spotted Darcy sitting at one of the tables in the corner engaged in a very animated discussion with a tall redheaded woman.

Shannon’s heart was racing and her palms began to sweat as stared at Darcy and her companion. "Hey stop shopping for yourself, you little vixen." Brad scolded her just as Darcy’s gaze drifted. She locked eyes with the brunette and time seemed to stand still as her body began to tremble. "Hey." Brad whined as he poked her in the ribs. Shannon squealed as she tore her gaze away from Darcy. "What was that all about?" Brad eagerly inquired.

"Just a co-worker." Shannon lied.

"Uh huh." Brad grunted in disbelief. "Break her and girlfriend up later. There he is the tall blonde at the bar."

"Fine you bully." Shannon groaned as she stood her knees buckling slightly as she snuck another glance at Darcy who was still looking at her.

As she approached the bar she wondered if she should go over and say hello to Darcy? "Girlfriend?" She mumbled as she neared Darcy’s table. The thought filled her with fear as she turned suddenly and headed towards the bar and the man Brad was lusting after. She didn’t miss the crestfallen look on the brunette’s face as she turned away.

The man whose name was John bought her a drink and followed her around for the rest of the evening. Despite Brad’s considerable charms, John never looked at him once. She and Brad decided they had enough for one night ditched her new admirer and went home. Shannon felt horrible for blowing Darcy off. The chilly reception she received the following Monday morning confirmed the nagging fear she harbored all weekend that she had offended Darcy.

Shannon spent the next few weeks trying to smooth things out between her and Darcy. The clipped tones and distant look in the brunette’s eyes were hauntingly familiar. It was the same reaction Darcy had fifteen years earlier when she threw in the towel and gave Shannon what she thought she had wanted by walking away.

It was Valentines Day and Shannon was staring out the window of her office watching the rain feeling miserable. ‘Why does it hurt so much more this time around?’ She wondered knowing that she had once again been the one to drive a wedge between her and Darcy. ‘It was the thought of her being with someone else.’ She realized as she continued to stare out into the darkness. "What the hell is wrong with me? I’m not a confused kid anymore." She admonished herself.

A flash of lighting startled her as she caught a glimpse of a lone figure standing on the sidewalk staring up at the window she was perched in. "Darcy?" She gasped as she stared down at the tall dark woman becoming soaked as the rain began to fall even harder.

Without thinking or stopping to grab a coat or umbrella the blonde bolted from the windowsill and rushed out of the office. Her heart was pounding as she raced down the four flights of stairs and towards the front door of the building. The cold rain assaulted her body as she raced outside to catch Darcy’s rapidly retreating form. "Darcy!" She called out in a panic. Her frantic plea was swallowed up by the hollowing wind as she raced after her friend.

Shannon continued to call out as she ran after the brunette following her into the woods. Shannon slipped more than once as she blindly followed after Darcy who never turned back. Shannon was filled with fear as she searched desperately for the woman who had long ago stolen her heart.

Shannon’s body was shivering from the cold and fear as the pounding in her ears grew with each passing moment. She stopped as she entered the small courtyard. Nothing could have prepared her for the sight of Darcy’s tall frame leaning on the edge of the wishing well. "Darcy?" Shannon choked out as she stared at the brunette who seemed oblivious to her presence as she stared down into the well.

"Darcy?" She repeated as the brunette remained still. Shyly she approached the taller woman as she tried to understand what was happening. She was careful to keep some distance between them as the taller woman turned to her. Darcy refused to meet her gaze as she stood there with her rain soaked clothing clinging tightly to her body. Shannon bit back the moan that crept up on her as she spied Darcy’s nipples straining against her wet blouse. "What are doing out here in this weather?" Shannon demanded. "You don’t even have a coat on."

"Neither do you." Darcy countered with a heavy sigh as she tucked her hands behind her back.

"Darcy what is it?" Shannon quietly asked as she took a careful step closer. "Please tell me what is going on?"

"That is what I want to know." Darcy wearily tried to explain. "Why?"

"Why what?" Shannon asked in bewilderment as she moved a little closer.

"Why do you just shut me out?" Darcy asked her crystal blue eyes filling with tears as she looked at the ground. "Why did you throw away our friendship fifteen years ago? Why when we just started to become close again did you drop me like a bad habit? Just tell what I did to deserve it?"

"I am not . . . It’s not . . ." Shannon began to stammer as the guilt washed over her.

"Don’t." Darcy hissed her eyes finally turning towards Shannon’s trembling figure. "Last month you avoided me when you saw me at the bar. One moment we are joined at the hip and the next you pretend you don’t even know me, and I just want to know why you feel that you can treat me that way? Is it because I’m gay?"

"What?" Shannon gasped as her eyes widened with surprise. "No." Shannon started to laugh the reality of the situation suddenly striking her as funny. Darcy looked at her in amazement as she began to laugh even harder. "I’m sorry." Shannon apologized as she struggled to control her laughter. "You have no idea how funny this is do you?"

"Enlighten me?" Darcy encouraged her.

"I didn’t push you away then or now because you are a lesbian, in fact, I wasn’t ever certain that you were." Shannon explained once she regained her composure.

"Then what is it?" Darcy voice grew soft as kept her hands behind her back while she studied the smaller woman. "Don’t tell this just all part of your charm?"

"Could be." Shannon sighed. "I pulled away because I’m a lesbian." She tried to explain.

"Wait what about that guy I saw you flirting with a the bar?" Darcy pressed.

"I wasn’t flirting with him." Shannon quickly asserted. "My friend Brad thought he was hot. I didn’t say hello to you because I thought you were out with a date and I didn’t want to intrude."

"Old friend." Darcy quickly clarified as Shannon blew out a sigh of relief. "I’m still confused. I’m gay and you’re gay and I could have sworn that over the past few months we’ve been flirting with each other so why did you just brush me off?"

"I don’t know you were flirting." Shannon said with a shy smile as she closed the gap between them. "I mean I thought you were at times and then I just felt the old confusion and mixed feelings from the past and I lost it."

"The past?" Darcy said softly as Shannon felt a spark of hope.

"You know it all started here." Shannon began as she looked up into Darcy’s eyes. She shivered as she felt the brilliant blue gaze capturing her senses. "Fifteen years ago I invited you here on the night of Valentines Day, because I wanted to know if the old story was true. When you showed up and started joking about how silly it was, I lost my nerve. I wanted to tell you that night that I had fallen in love with you. But when you started clowning around I realized that you had a boyfriend and I was just a fool. As soon as your back was turned I tossed the rose I was carrying into the well. I’ll never forget the sight of my single white rose floating in a sea of red. All of those broken hearts and mine was one of them. That is why I pushed you away."

Shannon felt embarrassed as she stood there in the rain confessing that she ran from Darcy because the brunette didn’t love her as she loved the brunette. She couldn’t look at Darcy, as she suddenly felt foolish all over again. Shannon shivered as she felt Darcy leaning into her body. "I threw mine into the woods." Darcy’s warm breath whispered hotly in her ear. Shannon swooned from the feel of Darcy’s breath caressing her. The blonde’s eyes fluttered shut as she felt Darcy’s body brushing against her own as the brunette’s arms wrapped around her waist.

Shannon’s hands reached out and came to rest on the brunette’s hips. She inhaled the scent of Darcy’s perfume as she felt a soft caress tickling her cheek. "Wait." Shannon murmured as her eyes blinked open. "What did you say?"

"I said that I threw the rose I had with me that night the one I intended to give to you into the woods." Darcy whispered in a husky tone.

Shannon felt another soft caress against her cheek. This time the softness drifted down her neck. The blonde’s head fell back slightly as she gasped from the sensation her eyes once again drifted shut as the soft caress continued down her neck and up under her chin. "Tell me again the color of the rose you had with you that night?" Darcy purred into her ear as the caressing continued to ignite Shannon’s body.

"White." Shannon panted as her eyes drifted open.

As her vision became clearer she saw what had been caressing her skin. Darcy smiled as she held the single white rose up and brushed its soft petals against the blonde’s lips. Shannon was stunned as she stumbled back clasping onto Darcy’s hand. The brunette released the rose into Shannon’s trembling fingers as her electric blue eyes bore into the smaller woman.

"You brought it back to me?" Shannon choked out as she inhaled the sweet fragrance.

"I guess the legend is true." Darcy said in a tender voice as she brushed the back of her fingers across the blonde’s cheek. "Remember if you cast your rose into the well it will be brought back to you by the one who deserves your heart. Do I deserve your heart, Shannon?"

"Yes." Shannon whispered as she leaned into Darcy’s touch. "Always." She added as she reached up and laced her fingers in Darcy long wet hair. They moved in unison until their lips met. The kiss was shy and gentle still Shannon’s heart was hammering with excitement. Neither of them stepped away instead they reclaimed one another’s lips this time the kiss was filled with passion.

Shannon was lost as the kiss quickly deepened while they wrapped their arms around one another. Shannon could feel her nipples straining against the wet material of her blouse as she traced Darcy’s lips with her tongue. She parted her lover’s lips as she felt Darcy’s thigh parting her legs. Still clutching the rose between her fingers she explored the warmth of her lover’s mouth.

Shannon’s hips swayed against her lover’s body as she felt Darcy’s tongue wrapping around her own. The cold rain did nothing to cool their desire as Darcy pressed Shannon’s body against the cool stone wall. Shannon clung to her lover’s broad shoulders as she felt the brunette’s hips moving against her. Shannon’s body moved in perfect rhythm as their hips danced against each other urgently.

Shannon didn’t care about the weather or that anyone could happen upon them as she thrust her hips wildly against Darcy’s body, matching the brunette’s wild pace. All the years of denial was fueling on Shannon’s passion as she allowed Darcy to drive her closer to the edge as her passion flooded her already damp clothing. She simply clung tightly to Darcy as the brunette’s firm thigh teased her clit. Shannon straddled the taller woman’s body as she struggled to breathe.

Her entire being was pulsating as they rocked against one another. Shannon could feel her thighs trembling as they tightened hard around Darcy’s leg. The brunette’s movements grew more intense as Shannon felt her body exploding. She cried out as they thrust harder and harder against each other. Shannon was quivering as she tried to steady herself.

Never in her wildest dreams did Shannon ever think that she was leaning against the old stone wall of the wishing well in the middle of a rainy night while Darcy brought her to the brink of ecstasy. Darcy stepped back slightly and kissed her gently. "I never expected that." Darcy shyly confessed. "The reason I came out tonight was to toss the rose into the well. Somehow I ended walking to campus and standing in rain looking up at our office window. When I saw you looking back at me I was just going to go home. I don’t know why I ended up back at the well."

"Lucky for me the cottage the college gave you when you made tenure is along this path." Shannon murmured as she began to kiss Darcy’s neck. Darcy’s head fell back as Shannon licked the drops of rain from the brunette’s supple neck. The sensual groan the brunette released sent a tremor straight to the blonde’s lower anatomy. "Take me home." Shannon whispered against her lover’s skin as she heard someone approaching.

Darcy took Shannon by the hand and led her along the path that led away from the campus to the small row of cottages that the luckier faculty members were housed in. The sweet smell of the rain mixed with the smoky of aroma of burning wood escaping from several chimneys filled the night air.

"I’ll start a fire." Darcy offered as she led them into the small cottage she called home. Shannon brushed her damp locks off of her brow as she went into the bathroom and retrieved some towels for the both of them. Darcy smiled as she reentered the living room with the towels. The brunette stood once she had the fire started. She thanked Shannon for the towel as they began to dry off neither of them releasing the other from their gaze.

As the heat from the fire grew so did the intensity of their gaze. Soon the towels were discarded as they wrapped themselves around one another and quickly became lost in another fiery kiss. Shannon felt weak in the knees as she tugged at her lover’s wet clothing. Darcy’s hands were drifting up and down her body as the brunette was also frantically trying to undress her.

The kisses grew deeper as they tore one another’s clothing away in an urgent need to feel the other’s body. They laughed as they struggled with the soaking wet clothing and tumbled onto the floor. "I’ve been dreaming about this for fifteen years." Shannon boldly confessed as she tossed the last of her lover’s clothing across the room.

"So have I." Darcy gasped as she rolled Shannon over and removed her underwear.

Shannon shivered as Darcy stood and walked over to the sofa. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from the sight of Darcy’s naked body as the brunette grabbed a blanket and laid it onto the floor in front of the fire. Shannon quickly scrambled to her feet as her lover held her hand out to her.

Shannon took Darcy’s hand and stepped into her warm embrace each of them was shivering with anticipation as their bodies touched completely for the first time. Shannon’s hands began a slowly exploration of the soft curves of her lover’s body. Her small hands drifted down across Darcy’s shoulders to her back and down along her ribs until they came to rest on the curve of her hips. Shannon’s body warmed as she felt the rash of goose bumps emerging on Darcy’s soft flesh.

Shannon felt her heart skip a beat as Darcy’s nipples brushed against her naked body. As Shannon caressed her lover’s hips Darcy’s hands had not been idle as they explored the blonde’s body until the brunette was caressing Shannon’s firm backside. Shannon began to kiss Darcy’s collarbone as she felt her lover’s hands gently massaging her. She felt Darcy’s desire brushing against her skin as her kisses became more insistent.

Shannon could feel Darcy trembling against her as the blonde’s kisses drifted lower. Her lover’s gasps and moans fueled on Shannon’s growing desire as her hands drifted back up Darcy’s body until she was cupping her breasts. She teased the brunette’s nipples with the palms of her hands as she traced the swell of her breasts with her tongue. Darcy’s hands gripped her tighter as the brunette’s hips began to sway against Shannon’s body.

"You’re so wet." Shannon whispered as she felt Darcy’s wetness painting her thigh. She captured one of the brunette’s erect nipples between her agile fingers while she circled the other with her tongue.

"Shannon." Darcy whimpered as the blonde’s tongue began to flicker across her nipple while she rolled its twin between her fingers.

Darcy cried out when Shannon captured the nipple in her mouth. The brunette’s body arched as she pressed her breast deeper into the blonde’s mouth. Shannon suckled her lover’s breast eagerly while the brunette continued to grind her body against her. Shannon was certain that they fall as she teased her lover’s nipples with her teeth and her tongue and her thigh rubbed urgently against Darcy’s throbbing clit.

Shannon’s body hummed with desire as she teased her lover. Darcy broke away from her touch and captured Shannon in a sensual kiss that brought the both of them to their knees. Shannon was gasping for air as the kiss came to a reluctant end. She lowered Darcy down onto the blanket and took a moment to drink in the sight of her lover’s body glowing in the firelight while the blonde ran her fingertips along her skin.

She could see the look of pure passion in Darcy’s eyes as she watched Shannon touching her. Darcy’s body arched as Shannon’s hands drifted lower and lower until her fingers were greeted by her lover’s wetness. Shannon was still kneeling above her lover as she parted her and dipped her fingers into Darcy’s wetness. She ran her fingers along her slick folds as she watched her lover trembling from her touch.

Her fingers slipping deeper as Darcy’s legs opened for her. She could see her lover’s desire as she brushed her fingers against her throbbing clit. Darcy’s moans grew heavier as Shannon’s fingers continued to tease her. "Please." The brunette pleaded as her passion caressed Shannon’s hand. Slowly Shannon entered her lover as Darcy gasped with pleasure.

Her own body was screaming out for pleasure as she allowed Darcy’s body to adjust to her touch. Slowly she began to plunge in and out of the brunette as she watched the rise and fall of her body. Her own wetness was flowing freely as she watched her lover’s body riding against her touch. Her thumb began to tease her swollen clit as her fingers continued to fill her.

The sight of Darcy wriggling in ecstasy was driving her insane. Her need was threatening to overwhelm her as she leaned closer to her lover. She straddled the taller woman needing to feel her body moving against her. Darcy cried out as Shannon moved against her as their passion met. Shannon rocked urgently against Darcy’s needy thrusts.

Their hips swayed in perfect rhythm as Shannon’s fingers continued to pleasure her lover. She felt her heart swell as her lover’s body exploded against her touch. Shannon continued to pleasure her lover as her own body began to near the edge while she pressed her own wetness deeper inside her lover’s. "Yes!" Darcy cried out as her body lifted up off of the floor as the waves of ecstasy captured her.

Shannon was lost in a haze of pure desire as she felt her lover’s passion releasing against her body. Shannon cried out as she felt Darcy’s hand slipping between their bodies and dipping into her wetness. Once again they became locked in a fiery kiss as they filled one another and their bodies thrust wildly against the other’s touch. Shannon’s head was spinning as they climaxed in unison each still pleasuring the other until they collapsed against one another.

They frantically caressed one another sweat-covered bodies in a need to feel more. The overwhelming passion driving them to seek out what they wanted as they moved so that they were lying side by side. Shannon moaned as she felt her lover’s tongue tasting her for the first time. The scent of Darcy’s desire filled her as she guided her lover’s wetness to her own mouth and eagerly began to drink in the brunette’s passion.

Shannon was torn between giving into the feel of Darcy’s mouth tasting and teasing her and the taste of her lover’s passion. She moaned into Darcy’s wetness as she feasted upon her while Darcy mirrored her actions. She could feel Darcy’s body trembling against her face as she took her deeper. She screamed into Darcy’s wetness as her body exploded against her lover as the brunette cried out from the warmth of Shannon’s desire.

They clung to one another as each of them continued to cry out in pleasure. Shannon finally rolled away from the warmth of her lover’s body. She ran her tongue along her lips drinking in the sweet nectar of her lover’s desire. Shannon could feel the warmth of the fire as her lover began to kiss her way up her body. Her breath escaped her as Darcy leaned over her. The brunette’s face was flushed and her eyes sparkling. "I love you." Shannon confessed as she pulled her lover down into a warm embrace. "I always have."

"I love you too." Darcy murmured as she pulled the blanket and her arms around the smaller woman. "And this time I’m not letting you get away."
