FADE IN:

INT. AMPHIPOLIS – INN – WINTER SOLSTICE/NIGHT

The tavern is empty, aside from our two heroines. Gabrielle extinguishes the oils lamps and heads for the inn kitchen. The remaining light source shows Xena lingering in the back for unknown reasons, one arm hidden.

Gabrielle beelines for the back hallway; unsurprisingly, Xena is in her way. Gabrielle tries to go left way and Xena matches her movement. She tries right and the same thing happens. By this time Xena and Gabrielle are face to face.

Xena, playing dumb and trying to make it look like an accident, innocently

XENA

Hi.

Gabrielle, not buying the angel act, hands on her hips

GABRIELLE

Yes?

Xena brings a hand from behind her back and puts a green plant in the air above them; she wiggles it suggestively for added effect.

Xena, looking up, faking a surprise

XENA

Oh look, mistletoe.

Gabrielle, grumbling

GABRIELLE

Sneaky warlords ambushing unsuspecting bards.

Xena, smiling

XENA

Sneaky warlords stealing kisses from beautiful bards.

Gabrielle, with glint in her eye, looking for loophole, sneakily

GABRIELLE

It's tradition to kiss under the mistletoe, right?

Xena, amending the rules to prevent escape, confidently

XENA

It's tradition to kiss a bard on the lips under the mistletoe.

Before Xena can make her move, Athena appears between them and does the honors.

Athena, turning around after kissing Gabrielle, smugly

ATHENA

There.

XENA

Rats! Cheater.

Gabrielle and Athena kiss Xena on each cheek and a big, happy smile breaks out on her face.

Xena, Gabrielle, & Athena, looking directly at the camera, cheerfully

XENA, GABRIELLE, & ATHENA

Merry Christmas, everyone!
