My book, Afterglow, is now avaliable on Amazon.

Feared by all, Hemheri ruled the universe with an iron fist. As the leader of a powerful, omnipotent race, she knew and understood her duty.

Enjoy!

Announcement From Geonn Cannon
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love the Academy of Bards. My first published novel was seen by a publisher because I posted it here. And now, I've received my second Goldie Award for a novel about characters I first wrote for an Academy Halloween challenge. The Academy has been so vital to my career, from exposing my writing to a whole cadre of new fans to creating challenges that actually led to me creating characters I truly love. I haven't been posting here as often because I'm lazy and forgetful and all kinds of things, but I've never forgotten the Academy or what it means to me. I'm honored to be welcomed when I post, and I'm always grateful to be included in the Invitationals. I don't know where my writing career would be without this place, but I know that I wouldn't have gotten to where it is without the Academy's help. I'm still posting, to squiresisle.geonncannon.com and underdogs.geonncannon.com , but I'll do my best to keep this place - my first real home of lesbian fiction - in the loop.

To everyone who works tirelessly behind the scenes to post these stories, to every dedicated reader who regularly checks for new installments from their favorite author, and everyone in between, thank you so much!

Announcement From Fingersmith
Hi there, everyone. I have been meaning to do this ever since the paperback version has come out, but I just didn't get the time. But, school is out for the summer and I am so happy that I have decided to do a book giveaway. This time the giveaway is in two parts – just to confuse people even more than I usually do.

Firstly, you have a chance to win a signed copy of Once . Maybe you have read this book when it was first released a few years ago, but this version is new and very much improved. If you don't win the paperback, I am offering three e-book copies.

All you have to do to have a chance of winning is to either message me on Facebook or email (fingersmith@hotmail.co.uk ). Now for the second part of the giveaway. You can choose a book of mine for me to sign for you – your choices are Once, Beginnings, Hearts and Flowers Border . Or if you don't win a signed copy, I am giving away three e-books - you can choose one of my published stories to download to your reader (others include Still Life, See Right Through Me, Puppy Love , or Forget Me Not ).

What you have to do … You have to finish the following sentence and post it either on my Facebook page or send it to me via email. I am a reader because …

Each sentence you complete is a new entry. Therefore, if you send me ten messages and have a different sentence each time, you have ten chances to win. The competition is open until 29 July 2015 – I will announce the winners as soon as …

Clear? Like mud? Wish you'd never started reading it? Thank you – and good luck. I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Linda T Smith x

Check out my published works at Ylva Publishing. Or not. Your choice. ;)

Announcement From The Royal Academy Of Bards

Hi Y'all.

It's that time of year again. Yep, it's JULY and you know what that means...

It's "MAKE OZ WORK” Month.

YAY!

<.slapping forehead.>

What am I saying?!?

Actually, it's Feed the Bards Month and Hall of Fame nominations time again.

This still amounts to “OZ has to get off her lazy butt and do real Academy work” Month.

You see I am fingers and toes that count all the votes.

Okay, so here is what YOU have to do...

First...It's FEED THE BARDS month. We ask that you rabid readers go on a feeding frenzy and stuff those Bardie mailboxes until they burst. Yeah, yeah, you are busy AND you meant to send the Bard an email with feedback last week when you read their story.

TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND DO IT.

Let the folks who continue to write and share their talents with you (FOR FREE) know how much you appreciate them. We ask that when you send your emails to the individual Bards, you CC us at feedthebards@yahoogroups.com.

The person who feeds the most Bards, in July, will get a personalized prize designed by the world famous Academy Artists and be named FAN OF THE YEAR.

Second...It's HALL OF FAME time. We ask that you vote for your top 3 Bards and your top 5 stories or series.
Please review the previous winners (from 2005-2014) here: http://www.academyofbards.org/halloffame/

(You don't want to waste your votes on Bards and Stories already elected.)

The only criteria are that the Bards and Stories nominated must be hosted at the Academy. The Bard must have at least one story (any story) posted at the Academy. The nominated Stories must be housed at the Academy. The exception to this is Missy Good. (She houses the Academy---her stuff is in a different room but the same building which, btw, she owns. Yep, she's the landlord.) Also, the stories and Bards do not have to pair up. That is to say, you can nominate your Bards and then five stories written by other different Bards. In addition, if the Bard is already in the Hall of Fame, you may continue to nominate other stories written by that Bard, if you deem them HOF worthy. Just remember the story must be housed at the Academy.

The Academy has many genres to choose from…X&G, J&M, UBER, ORIGINAL, and a multitude of other fandoms.

Which Bards tickle your fancy, drive you to dramatic distraction, or consistently keep you up all night reading their latest offerings? Which stories are so well written you go back to reread them again and again even though they are engraved in your memory forever? Did one of our recent invitational stories or past challenge stories make a big impression? New favorites? Old favorites? Now is the time to honor them. We will take all your votes and tally them up. By ‘we', I mean me. <.g.>

The top 3 Bards and top 5 Stories will be our inductions for 2015. The Academy Munchkins will also honor a Bard with a Lifetime Achievement Award as well. But you won't find out who that is until the end of the month. Neener, neener, neener.

These Bards and Stories will receive a special banner on their pages indicating they are your Hall Of Fame choices, as well as listing on the Hall Of Fame main page. In addition, the Academy would love to send each Bard a special personalized item to commemorate their induction. The voting period will run until July 31th. Then we will count up your selections and announce the new Hall Of Fame members. Please list your choices (3 Bards/5 Stories) in a single email and send it here:
academy_contest@yahoogroups.com

Why a single email?

Let’s go back to that “OZ has to work” thing, okay? This makes it infinitely easier for me to keep up with the voting. I don’t want to miss any.

The Academy of Bards Staff would like to once again express their deep appreciation to all the Bards who continue to share their talents and provide entertainment and, in some cases, enlightenment to readers everywhere.

Now...go read, go feed, go vote, and then go write a story. The Academy has plenty of room for more stories. :o)

OZ

Oh and shameless plug….sorta.

Do you need help finding stories or want some recommendations on things to read? Racking you brain trying to remember who wrote the story you swore you would never forget? You know…it had some tall brunette with blue eyes and you know… some short blonde with green eyes and they were doing…you know…and there may have been some dinosaurs involved or no wait, not dinosaurs…Centaurs and some Amazons or maybe it was a delivery from Amazon…

Join the Academy 411 list. We have over 700 rabid reader experts to help you find stories (from a multitude of fandoms not just XWP) based on the barest details you can remember.
