:-)

I would also like to thank the Academy for this platform where I can engage with readers and writers alike. Keep up the good work, guys.

Remmy Foster is the quirky, friendly drifter who has never found roots after a difficult childhood, as well as the difficulties her very special gift brings into her life. Though she may call it exploring, the truth is she's running from ghosts that haunt her every step.

Three women, united by love and kinship, struggle to conform to the social norms of the times in which they lived.

In 1931, Katherine Henderson leaves behind her small town in Kansas and the marriage proposal of a local boy to live on her own and work at the Sears & Roebuck glove counter in Chicago. There she meets Annie—a bold, outspoken feminist who challenges Katherine’s idea of who she thinks she is and what she thinks she wants in life.

In 1997, Katherine’s daughter, Joan, travels to Lawrence, Kansas, to clean out her estranged mother’s house. Hidden away in an old suitcase, she finds a wooden box containing trinkets and a packet of sealed letters to a person identified only by a first initial. Joan reads the unsent letters and discovers a woman completely different from the aloof and unyielding mother of her youth–a woman who had loved deeply and lost that love to circumstances beyond her control. Now she just has to find the strength to use the healing power of empathy and forgiveness to live the life she’s always wanted to live.

Announcement from Q. Kelly
Howdy! I'm excited to announce the release of my newest novella, "Woman Unleashed." It's psychological suspense/lesbian romance and is a bit different from other stories I've written. It runs about 28,500 words.

Here's the blurb (to see the cover and more information, check out qkellybooks.com ):
Sixty-year-old Melody Thomas has a perfect life--or does she? Melody runs a fairly successful chain of superstores, and she and her husband have two incredible children, a daughter and a son. Melody has long come to terms with the fact that her life, her marriage, her everything, will lack passion.
Then her daughter comes out as gay and soon after becomes engaged to a photographer named Joy. Joy may be Melody's undoing. From their first meeting, Joy consumes Melody's mind, her body, her soul, her spirit. They embark on an affair, and Melody has never felt more alive. She thinks she and Joy fill each other's emptiness, but she is wrong, quite wrong--and she is about to find out what exactly she is capable of.

Announcement From The Royal Academy of Bards

Oz here and I have your 2013 Inductees to the Hall of Fame and the winner of Fan of the Year.

Voting was interesting this year. We didn't have an overall top-story winner. We had two. Invariably, when one story was nominated, the other was nominated in the same breath...errr...email. So it was most definitely a tie. Not that I think the author is going to mind...that's right...same author, both stories.

It was nice to see that one of the authors being inducted this year is the same one that just got squeaked out by a single vote last year. Plus, we have two story series being inducted. They are classics and they so richly deserve the honor of going into the Hall.

Let's get to it.

The Royal Academy of Bards is proud to induct into it's Hall of Fame the following 3 Bards (in alphabetical order):

Jenny Frame
K-Morgan
Stein Willard

The Royal Academy of Bards is also proud to induct the following 5 stories/series into the Hall of Fame:

Queen of the Realm AND Princess of the Realm by Warriorjudge(Our top vote-getters)
The Dylan Morgan Show
by Jenny Frame
The Gina/Gabriella Series aka The New Adventures of X:WP
by Ernie Whiting
The Mel/Janice Series
by D.J. Belt

Congratulations to all the Inductees.

<<<APPLAUSE!!!!>>>

If you haven't read the inducted stories...run don't walk...ummm...click on the links and get to it. After reading...don't forget to FEED THE BARDS.

Which brings me to our Fan of the Year....this is just so incredible...finally, proof that there is a number 6 in the Xenaverse <.bg.>. For the 6th, that's right, 6th time in a row our Fan of the Year is Carpe Chakram.

CC is a readin' feedin' machine.

I will be contacting all the winners this week to arrange their tile shipments.

Okay, that finishes up my part...here is where I turn over the announcement to Steph...take it away, Boss...

For the last 8 years I've been honored to choose a writer who has stories hosted at the Academy of Bards for the Lifetime Achievement Award. You would think that since it's been that many years I would run out of ideas on who to choose this year. Well, I haven't! In fact, I had a really hard time choosing. I had it down to two people and in fact, I was sure I was going to induct the other one this year. I really should have called a tie but then this gives me an easy choice next year!

The person who is going to join our Lifetime Achievement award winners this year is an excellent writer. She writes the most detailed, complex characters I've ever read. Not just in fanfiction either but she can weave a tale worthy of a number one best seller on the NY Times list. When I am reading her works, I get lost in the story - the imagery is so strong. With each new chapter she writes, she gets even better.

Lucky for me, this person also lives in the same city as I do and I'm lucky enough to call her a friend. And by knowing her personally, I can say that she is probably the least conceited person I know yet she would have every right to be a little cocky about the quality of her writing.

I'm very happy announce the latest winner of the Academy of Bards Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award is :

D Jordan Redhawk

.....and yes I know what the D stands for :)

Now, about to graduate high school, she is entering the world of adult love as her long-time boyfriend has asked for her hand in marriage. More grateful to Landon for seeing her through her painful past than in love with him, she agrees. Now, however she must face the reality that patient Landon would be expecting certain privileges from his wife-to-be. Nervous and wanting advice, she turns to her brother's best friend Sarah for answers, only to find far more questions that she began with. Find this story at: www.kimpritekel.com/ebooks
