How Sweet the Sound

Ann Tonnell

The debut novel by Ann Tonnell, How Sweet the Sound is now available.

How Sweet the Sound merges an energetic love story with one of fulfilled dreams and a rural community’s hope. Val Scott, a retired RN, envisions a way to improve the lives of an economically depressed area of Georgia through an initially hush-hush project. Because the state’s conservative and fundamentalist history serves as a deterrent to planning, revealing, and executing such an innovative project, Val remains cautious in the early stages.

She finds support from a fierce flirt, popular laundromat owner, Nicki Williams. Although Nicki has suffered incredible loss, she has worked through her grief to obtain a social work degree and is pursuing an MBA. She is drawn, not only to Val’s project, but also to Val herself. Nicki’s best friend, John Henry Evans, becomes an ardent supporter.

Val and Nicki navigate their relationship and business partnership amid an intense project timeline. Throughout the story, music’s poetry communicates romance, love, and understanding. As the project nears completion, a karaoke talent event demonstrates the community’s acceptance of the project’s mission. Val prepares to leave for several months on a bicycle trip, and Nicki questions.

Update from Bedazzled Ink -

Heads-up for old-timers and new readers TALES OF EMORIA #4 COMING SOON! But first...
It's Publication Day! In anticipation of finally publishing Fall Time, Book 4 of the Tales of Emoria, this summer, we've released The Queen's Sister, a fluffy little novel not set in Emoria, but in a tiny fictional country in modern day Europe.
The world is crazy and dark right now and Mindancer wants to give readers a few hours to escape with a light and fun read.

Maggie Colter is living the life she's chosen, rather than the life she was born into. Not that she had much choice after her ultra-conservative father banished her for a simple photo in the tabloids of her kissing a girl.

Then the unimaginable happens. Her father, the king of Vineburg, a tiny island country off the coast of France known for its vineyards and wine-soaked nightlife with a medieval twist, and her second cousin heir to the throne, die together in a mysterious mishap. Maggie returns home to help her older twin sister, Princess Suzanne, go from a typical yacht-owning, jet-setting European royal princess to being Vineburg's first queen in its eight-hundred year history.

Fortunately for Maggie, her old roommate from college, Erin Winters, is leading an archaeological dig in Vineburg and is a more than willing accomplice to help Maggie put together the pieces of the puzzle surrounding the royal claims. Not to mention, the rekindling of their old friendship is creating enough sparks between them to have the local gossips working overtime.

We also put out the first book of The Extraordinary of Brice Johnson- Bus Driver Brice with the original cover drawing by Trish Ellis [] People with LONG memories will remember she did the artwork for the Khimaral Ink Magazine we use to put out.

Brice Johnson is just an ordinary person. She spends way too much time on the internet, spoils her pets rotten, and hates washing the dishes. One of the few things odd about her is she loves her job as a bus driver.

Brice comes from a long line of superheroes. Everyone she interacts with on a daily basis has some type of superpower. Brice herself is what they call a baron in the world of superheroes—meaning she’s someone who should have special powers but doesn’t. In other words, just an ordinary person with an ordinary bus driving job for the International High School for Gifted Students.

Brice has lived twenty-seven years perfectly content with her unexciting life—her greatest challenge has been to find a girlfriend who doesn’t dump her. Like Bilbo Baggins, she views adventures as nasty, uncomfortable things that makes you late for dinner. An urgent middle-of-the-night call from Noel, an old friend with the ability to create ice from thin air, flips her contented life upside down as she reluctantly agrees to embark on an adventure to save the International High School from a nefarious group of supervillains.

Little does Brice know that once you start adventuring, life has a way of flinging adventures at you from every angle. As she meets each adventure head on, she discovers being a baron can be your own special hero.

Check out our updated website...I know, finally... at  in case you've missed any of our books. Hopefully, "We'll Surprise You"!
Happy Reading!
