Blue Feather Books is happy to announce that the second edition of The Fifth Stage, Margaret Helms' bittersweet love story, has been released as a Blue Feather Book and is now available to order. Here's what Nann Dunne had to say about it:

In The Fifth Stage, author Margaret A. Helms deftly alternates past and present events in the life of Claire Blevins to build an enthralling and intriguing story that covers a myriad of emotions: the nervousness and confusion of a first lesbian relationship; the joy and satisfaction of true love; the distress and guilt of losing a lover; the uncertainty of picking up the pieces and reentering the dating game; and the tentative steps toward forging a new relationship. Helms achieves this in near-perfect fashion with rich prose, compelling plot, and lively pace. You fall in love with the strongly-drawn characters and completely empathize with them. The Fifth Stage is an outstanding contribution to lesbian fiction.

Happy reading!

Announcement
from KG MacGregor

A New Book by KG MacGregor…

I'm excited to announce the release of Sumter Point, a romance available from Bella Books (ISBN 978-1-59493-089-8, $13.85). I've been working on this one for a couple of years, and it's a bit like pushing a teenager out of the nest. I hope you enjoy it.

Audie Pippin is a 24-year-old veterinary technician at the animal shelter in Sumter, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Her carefree life includes friends, marijuana, margaritas, and casual sex—until all of it is jeopardized by her grandmother's failing health. Beth Hester, 33, is a nurse at the long-term care facility where Audie's grandmother is admitted after a serious stroke. She's down to earth and mature, her career and financial investments meticulously planned. Compared to Audie, Beth doesn't know the meaning of fun.
Through Audie's daily visits, they forge a friendship that draws Beth into a celebration of the fun side of life while opening her eyes to innocent, unselfish love. As Audie surrenders her heart to Beth, she begins to distance herself from the reckless habits of her youth. Just as they're ready to meet in the middle, their future is thrown into doubt by a duty Beth can't ignore. It all comes to a head on the river at Sumter Point.

And a New Look, too…

I've been working with Stephanie Solomon-Lopez on a redesign of my website. We're still tinkering, but please stop by and check out our progress at www.kgmacgregor.com.

Hey, guys. Just an update for you. Yesterday was the first official read-through of the script, with the entire cast. I couldn't be there, which I'm bummed about, but was there in spirit, apparently. I was told that the actors loved the script, and were taking to their parts like a duck to water. Oh, for those of you who didn't know- yes, I am writing the novel for this film, but the original guy they had hired to write the screenplay got fired, so they asked if I'd step in and start over. I said hell yeah! and re-wrote the entire thing. I'm beyond thrilled in all this. I've written screenplays before, but it's a very new credit to me, so I can't even tell you how cheesed I am about all this. Then, last night Matt Dean, the director called me to talk about the script a bit, and then he starts putting me on the phone with the actors! Holy crap, I'm like, uh, hi? Man. I feel like SUCH a kid right now. lol Definitely a fish out of water. But I gotta tell ya- I'm lovin' every minute of it.

I fly down to St. Augustine March 21 and will be there on set through the 25th. It is going to be SO hard coming back to work that Monday, 26th. I dread it. I also found out yesterday that this film will be going into world-wide DVD distribution, so all of you folks across the pond will be able to partake, as well.

So, there you go. I'm flying high over here, my feet still not totally on the carpet yet. What an amazing feeling. : D
