Hi folks...
As announced previously...the Academy will be coordinating a memorial donation campaign for Nicole, Carole Giorgio's daughter.  Nicole recently lost her courageous fight against cancer.  We offer our sympathies and prayers to the family but want to do just a little bit more.

These foundations were a great help to the family over the past 20 months.

If you wish to join the Academy in this endeavor...donations can be made via Paypal (, please designate which charity (if you have a preference) and Nicole's name on your Paypal form.

Also, the Academy will be designating this quarter's proceeds from the sale of Academy Marketplace logo merchandise to those same foundations.  We just sent the last quarter's donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation...we want to thank you all for your continued support.

Also, if you would like to send a card to Nicole's parents you can do so at the following address:

Also, from our hosting company--

On Saturday June 14th, ILON Hosting will be performing maintenance on a portion of the servers in our data center from approximately 11pm to 5am PST. During this time, we will be physically moving some servers to a different area of our data center in order to consolidate space. This move requires downtime for the servers involved, and customer sites hosted on these servers may be unavailable for a short time during the process. All customer data will be left untouched, and no action is required by you to prepare for this event. This maintenance is necessary to facilitate the growth of our company and will benefit everyone down the road. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Thanks!

Announcement from Oz

BardCon's Project Literacy

Illiteracy has become a rampant problem here and around the world. Since BardCon is about writing and reading, we thought what better way to promote literacy than to start our own campaign.

Project: Literacy is what we are calling this latest endeavor. Our recipient for donations will be the StoryPlus Foundation.
This Foundation ( encourages children to read and write by giving them the tools and opportunity to develop their skills.

The raffle that took place at BardCon 2003 was just the beginning. We are hoping that bards, writers, graphic artists and fans will help us to continue by participating in our next project.

We are asking that you find a beautiful, colorful picture postcard from your home state or city. Then sign the front of it in black sharpie. On the back of the postcard we ask that you PRINT your name clearly and also indicate which of the categories you wish to be identified with:

Bard (X&G writer) or
Writer (Ubers and Originals)

If you consider yourself a member of more than one of those categories, sign/send me a postcard for each one.

Then please put the card(s) in an envelope and mail them to:
Phil Schudde
1514 Valparaiso Blvd
Niceville, Florida 32578

Please, it is very important that you mail them to me in an envelope and not directly. We want the images and signatures to stay as crisp and clean as possible.

The cards will be separated and combined with others of the same category, we'll add a special center graphic and voilà...turn them into a poster. There will be a series of posters, one for each category.

These posters will then be available for purchase via a donation to StoryPlus. It's a great way to collect signatures of your favorites and to again show the world the generous nature of the 'Verse.

Thank you again for all the support in the past and I hope you will participate in this latest endeavor.
